Chapter Three | Meeting

At the mention of the rival Alpha, Alpha Damon Black, Willow's eyes widened and her wolf began to stir within her. She quieted her wolf down, forcing her to settle back down again. Pulling herself from her thoughts, she looked back up at her Alpha and Beta and gave a sharp nod. "So, when is the meeting? I'm sure our Luna will want to attend and I intend on accompanying her. With me marrying our Beta soon, I would like to start helping out in pack politics. I did help out back in Onyxclaw starting on my 16th birthday," she stated firmly, her jaw clenching as she looked up at Ryan, hoping to gain approval from her Alpha.      Lexi took a moment to process everything and then grabbed Willow's hand, signalling that she supported this notion. Rhys and Ryan looked at each other and after just a few seconds they gave a nod to each other. "Alright, Willow. You can sit in on the meeting. It's at nine tomorrow morning and it will be in our conference room. I'm sure you know where it is by now. I am just fuming that this Alpha is so arrogant that he thinks he can just demand territory in order to settle near us. With a pack name like that, I can only imagine that they are trouble. Bloodstone? Really?" Ryan rambled on quickly, scoffing at the end of his statement. He quickly moved around the desk and gave Lexi a quick kiss on the lips before stalking out of the room, his eyes dark as he instructed Rhys to follow.      The Beta lowered his eyes as his Alpha walked past him. He made his way over to Willow's side and kissed her temple lightly. "Sorry about that. This has him all riled up. I'll see you when he releases me for the day," he whispered quickly and then followed his Alpha out the door and closed it behind him.      Willow turned to Lexi, sighing softly. "I can only imagine that this is going to go very poorly. Ryan is already not going to budge on any territory and the other packs definitely won't either. I just hope he doesn't do anything drastic. Him or Rhys," she said, nerves pricking at her voice and making it shake slightly.      The Luna shook her head and took Willow's hands in hers. "That's why we are there. We aren't prone to anger like they are. Us being there will help calm them and help them to see reason. They just want to protect their pack is all, Willow. They get worked up but they would never do something stupid like attack a rival Alpha. Especially not with us around. They would never put us in harm's way, you know that," Lexi reassured her with a kind smile, immediately calming Willow's nerves and allowing her to let out a sign of relief. "It was very smart of you to bring yourself into the meeting. That will keep Rhys level headed," she added with a small chuckle, making Willow smile wide.      "Well, being on the council back in Onyxclaw made me want to get more into the politics of pack life. It's honestly rather fun for me and in something as big as this, I really don't want to miss it. I've never sat in on a pack asking to be recognized alongside the established five," Willow replied and then glanced at her phone. It was getting late, around seven in the evening and her eyes widened a bit. "Wow, I didn't even notice the time. I should be heading back to mine and Rhys's room. I'll grab some dinner first if you wanted to join?" she offered, getting to her feet and stretching.      Lexi shook her head slightly. "You go on ahead. I'll have some dinner brought up to my office in a bit. I've got a few papers to look over and a few things to sign before I head to bed. Enjoy your dinner!" she said with a slightly tired smile and shooed Willow from the room.      After making her way downstairs and into the kitchen, she was greeted by several Omegas as they prepared plates for some of the Warriors. A few came up to her and asked to admire her new ring, giving her small kisses on the cheeks and gentle hugs. She sat down at the table with the Warriors, her plate full of chicken, potatoes, and steamed vegetables. Willow listened to them joke and carry on about training and patrols, bragging about winning their sparring sessions. She laughed along with them, enjoying the stories that they had to share as they all enjoyed their dinner.      By the time eight thirty rolled around, Willow's plate had been collected and cleaned and only a few Warriors and their pack's Delta remained in her company. She got to her feet and said her goodbyes to those sitting with her. She made her way up to her room, smiling when she saw that she was alone and would have plenty of time to wind down.      She took a quick shower and changed into her pajamas, crawling into their beautiful, plush bed and curling up under the covers. She scrolled through her phone for a while, responding to text messages that she had missed and looking through her social media as she waited for Rhys to come to bed. About an hour passed and Willow was still alone in bed. She rolled her eyes slightly, letting out a small huff as she turned the TV on for some background noise and settled into bed, her alarm set early enough for her to be ready for the meeting.      Willow was fast asleep by the time that Rhys came into their room, took his own shower, and fell asleep halfway under the covers. It wasn't too long after he fell asleep that Willow's alarm woke the two of them up. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and grumbled slightly as she rolled over and gave Rhys a soft kiss on the cheek. "Good morning, sleepyhead. Wake up. We have to get ready for this meeting," she mumbled softly and got up, stretching and sucking in a sharp breath at the cracks and pops that came from her joints.      She made her way over to her closet and pulled out a black and white striped jumpsuit and white sandals. She went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth and hair then went to go get dressed, having Rhys zip her up, and went downstairs to grab her breakfast. Rhys was oddly silent that morning. Getting ready and dressed off to himself and not saying a word. Willow could understand that though, they were about to go to a rather frustrating meeting with an Alpha who sounded like a handful.      Willow tried to clear her mind as she went downstairs to grab breakfast, knowing she wouldn't have time to eat something big as the meeting time was creeping ever closer. She grabbed a couple of pancakes and poured warm maple syrup over them and added a few strawberries and blueberries to them. She took a seat at the main table and ate quickly, only taking time to wave at the pack members who came down to also grab breakfast.      Once her breakfast was finished her plate was collected to be cleaned, Willow began to make her way back upstairs to the conference room. Her wolf began to stir and howl within her as they approached the conference room. He is in there. Our True Mate. He's just beyond the door. Willow...please. We are about to see the one that the Moon Goddess made for us, her wolf howled happily. Willow felt sick to her stomach. There was no way. Absolutely no way that their True Mate was in there. She grabbed the wolf head handle and took a deep breath as she pulled the door open.      There, just on the other side of the door was a beautiful man. He was tall, roughly six foot six from what Willow could see. His jet black hair was long and straight, tied back in a slick ponytail. His features were very angular and pointed, defined in the very best of ways. His clothes were various shades of black, gray, and red. But his eyes are what stole Willow. They were an icy gray, bright and pale against his tan skin and they bore into Willow's soul, seeing all of her. They were firm and set but as soon as they landed on Willow, they went soft for a moment and a smile played on his plump lips.      Willow's wolf was going crazy and her heart was racing as she looked up at him. That's him! He is our True Mate. Willow, we found him. He is ours and we are his, her wolf roared, howling so loud that Willow thought her head would explode.      Holy s**t. The Moon Goddess works in cruel, cruel ways.
