Chapter Five | Mine

The kiss. The kiss that set Willow's skin on fire and sent her wolf howling to no end. The kiss that changed her life forever. As much as she felt guilty in terms of Rhys, she was also ecstatic to finally have found her mate. Willow wrapped her arms around Damon's neck, pulling him closer into the kiss that she never wanted to end.     But, all good things must come to an end. Damon pulled back first, panting slightly as he rest his forehead against Willow's, his chest rumbling with a gentle growl. His hands explored her body, silently cursing the soft fabric that separated him from her skin. "Willow.." he began softly, his eyes a mix of desire and pain. "Please come with me. You were made to be mine and I was made to be yours. There's no point in you staying here, leading a life that was never meant for you. You aren't meant to be some Beta mutt's little trophy wife. You were meant to be a Luna. A queen. You were made to be with me," he begged softly. His hands had landed on her hips, his thumbs rubbing soft circles on them.     Letting out a sigh, Willow placed her hands on Damon's chest and hung her head. "I can't just leave, Damon," she sighed, dropping his title. "My life is here. My friends are here. Rhys is here. I've been with him for five years, Damon. He's all I've ever known. He was my first everything-" she explained but was cut off by a sharp growl from Damon. She narrowed her eyes and lightly slapped his chest. "You can't possibly think that everyone was going to wait around to find their True Mate before they f****d, you ass," she giggled out softly. "But, I can't just leave. We can figure something out but..I can't up and leave," she whispered, sadness taking over her voice once more.     Damon let out a soft sigh, moving to take her hands in his. "Willow..please. I will make sure that you are protected and safe if you leave this place. No harm will come to you. That I can promise. I would rather die than see you hurt. I've been searching for my mate for so long. I can't lose you right after finding you," he rambled on, shaking his head lightly. But in his heart, he knew that he couldn't just sweep her away. She had built a life here and who knows how long she has been around this pack. "We can figure something out. Yeah, we can do that. But I need to know when I'll see you again," Damon whispered softly and brought his hand up to gently caress Willow's cheek.     The small woman sighed softly and stroked Damon's arm. "I can try and make a trip back to Onyxclaw. I haven't seen my family in a while. I know some spots that are secluded where we could meet. But after that, I have no clue. We could try and meet in the city but it's dangerous to be out in public like that. Anyone could walk in," she replied, trying to think of something. "Either way, I will try to meet you in Onyxclaw's territory. I'll try to be leaving a little bit after you do. Put your number in my phone so I can keep you updated," she concluded, handing her phone to Damon and then looked up at the large white clock on the wall. "Damon..you have to go. They're going to wonder why it's taking so long" Willow sighed and gave him a quick kiss. As much as she wanted to, she couldn't risk a long hug. She couldn't risk any more of his scent mingling with hers.     Damon put his number into Willow's phone and handed it back to her, his hand lingering on hers for a few extra moments as a pained expression crossed his face. "Alright. I will see you there. Keep me posted. And remember, I am here if you just want to leave. I want you to be my Luna. My mate. I want you to be with me. I need you to be with me, Willow," he rambled on before shaking his head. "We'll figure it out," he concluded sharply and gently moved Willow so he could open the door and walk through it, his mate right on his heels.     Walking out of the room, they came face to face with Alex and Willow nodded at him. "I'll be escorting Alpha Damon to the front of the pack house and then he'll be leaving. I also intend to take a trip home to my family so once I see this one off, I'll be heading back out after packing," she informed the Delta, giving him a soft smile. "No need to follow as I am sure you have better things to do," she added and made her way to the front of the house, her mate by her side with every step of the way.    All Willow wanted to do was get into the large van that Damon arrived here in and never looked back but her entire life was here. Her fiance was here. Even though he was acting like a complete ass, they were still engaged and everyone was still giving congratulations. As the two arrived outside the front doors, she turned to him and gave him an understanding nod. "Have a safe journey, Alpha Damon. My home pack will surely welcome you and hear you out. My father is a very understanding man," Willow stated shortly, adjusting her hair slightly before turning to walk back inside.     Willow made her way back up to her room, keeping an eye out for Rhys or Ryan but had no luck in finding them. At least, that was until she got up to her room. Rhys was pacing around the room, his eyes dark and his face contorted in frustration. "What the f**k took you so long, Willow? What could've possibly been so important?" he hissed out, stalking over to her. Willow, however, stood her ground and stared up at him.     "Well look who finally decided to speak to me," she growled out, rolling her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I was filling Alpha Damon in on what he should expect back in Onyxclaw. Speaking of which, I need to pack. I'm going home for a few days," she stated and side-stepped him to make her way to the closet. She pulled out one of her smaller suitcases and began shoving clothes into it, the tips of her ears red in frustration.     Rhys didn't like the attitude that Willow was giving him and let out a huff of frustration. "Goddamn it, Willow. Do you have any idea how much stress I've been under? Ryan is dumping all of his stress on me and you're doing what? Wedding planning? God I would kill to be able to do absolutely nothing for hours on end but I have a pack to head in case you forgot," Rhys all but yelled at her. "And now you're out and flirting with a rival Alpha? If I didn't know any better, I would think you wanted to leave with him," he growled out, obviously frustrated but not daring to come any closer.     "Oh, is someone jealous? Goddess, what made you so insecure? Some random Alpha from who knows where? Seriously, Rhys. You have got to be kidding me. I just got engaged to you, if I didn't love you, I wouldn't have said yes you absolute moron. You still could've said more than two f*****g words to me after we got engaged but no. You couldn't even do that. So I'm going home to spend time with my brother and see my parents again. I miss home, Rhys. I haven't been home in over a year and a half so let me live a little," she yelled at him, her eyes blazing with pure anger and fury. She finished grabbing her toiletries and shoved them into her suitcase, cramming it closed and zipping it up. Gathering her suitcase and approaching the door, she turned back to look at Rhys, a mix of pain and anger in her eyes. "Get yourself together by the time I get back. I don't know who or what caused you to act this horrible to me but if you don't get this under control, I will never speak to you again," she growled and slammed the door behind her, quickly making her way to the front of the pack house where a car was waiting for her.     Rhys stood there in amazement, his lips parted slightly as he stared at the closed door before him. "I found my True Mate. And I have no clue what to do about it," he muttered to himself, absolutely dumbstruck.
