MELISSA The elevator doors slid open, and I stepped inside, my reflection distorted in the metal walls. I can’t believe I’m doing this. I pressed the button for the second floor, feeling a slight jolt as the elevator began to rise. The hum of machinery filled the silence. When the doors opened, I stepped into a quiet hallway. The carpet muffled my steps as I searched for room 94. After a few wrong turns, I realized I was lost.
