DAMIEN I reread Missy’s message about the camera beeping, and an unsettling feeling crept over me. I ran to Victor’s study. "I’ve got to go," I said as I stepped in. Victor raised an eyebrow. "What’s happening? Everything okay?" "It’s nothing serious," I lied, pushing the door open. “Missy called, and she needs me.” Before he could say anything, I rushed out of the house. On my way out, I nearly collided with Dorf. His eyes narrowed as he blocked my path. “Where are you going in such a hurry?” I didn’t bother replying, brushing past him and heading straight to the car. As we pulled away from the house, my phone buzzed. It was Jeremy. I had no choice but to answer. "What now?" I muttered under my breath. “Whoa!” Jeremy said. “Did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed?”
