Chapter 16Jase finished getting ready and had a few minutes in which he could make some phone calls. With his plan to tell Gavin his idea, he decided instead of waiting, he should let the other guys in on his thoughts too. With his mouth suddenly dry, he dialed Kiefer first, and the call went to voicemail. Jase left a brief message asking if he’d be around later in the day.
He hung up the phone and dialed Shaun. He was two for two with voicemail. He left the same message he’d left for Kiefer, so now he’d wait to hear back from them. Meanwhile, time was up—he needed to head out.
He arrived at Gavin’s right on time. Gavin opened the door, and stood dressed and ready to go. The knot in Jase’s stomach unfurled, and he smiled. Even though Gavin initiated them meeting up, Jase half expected to
