Chapter 37Jase walked from the parking lot to the deli and spotted a guy he recognized walking his way. It took a second for it to register who the guy was. He was Garrett’s boyfriend. Jase searched for Garrett nearby, but he couldn’t spot him. The guy appeared to be alone.
Jase should’ve kept walking and left his mouth shut. But at that moment, Jase wasn’t doing what he should. So instead, not sure what he planned to say, Jase stepped in the path of where the guy headed and stopped him mid-step. “Surprised you’re out without your boyfriend.”
The guy stared at Jase, then glanced behind himself. He turned back with an eyebrow raised. “I’m sorry. Are you talking to me?”
