The Wake of Nuun

1050 Words
Ruein (Ruu- In) stood up first, stretching his limbs slowly and looked around, his dark eyes glimmered as dark coals while his hair was gently tousled jet black hair, speckled with bits of white or gray in areas, as for Scaron(Scar-on), she was a woman with mahogany red hair, that resembled a dark purple in some light, but was streaked with lighter strands of white and gray in the mix as well. Ruein was well built and had what appeared as trunks on, while Scaron was wearing a simple top and underwear that resembled bathing suite attire. Looking around, they were in a settlement suddenly and wondered how they came to appear in one, when not long ago they were in a white room, both of them separately were. "Greetings, we have been waiting for the arrival of those from a further time." A person spoke to the two of them at once, they wore a gray gown that flowed down their frame and could of hid their feet, if it weren't for them walking around, fingers pinching the fabric of the gown to keep it from the ground. "We were expecting only one travel, not two from the future... but matters must be dire for this to have occurred." spoke the individual their heads appeared bald, whether shaved or cut to the skin, the person motioned for the duo to follow towards where others were waiting. "Who may you be, young guide? We are grateful for the assistance towards the settlement." spoke Scaron, who tried to lightly tread and keep up with the dressed individual, whom was quietly walking the forest trails like it was a practiced ease they could do even at night , it seemed. Soon they arrived at a settlement that looked rather ancient for there were some stone stairwells up and down, a maze of pathways up and down in the settlement and a large, almost mountainous sized temple that was in the distance. "The head mistress awaits you both within the temple, down three levels..." they paused and looked up at the sky briefly, than turned towards the two, "We may need to wait to meet the head mistress for tomorrow, but we will and just ask for me, Aji." With that, Aji, left and went to join a group of others whom wore a different colored gowns for each. Aji came back with another robed individual, they wore a light blue colored robe, almost like they were a floating ghost instead of actually walking for the ends of their robe was almost a misty blue-ish white, and the higher up was a gradual, deeper blue. The blue robed individual lifted their hands, the sleeves sliding down to just reveal the wrists and up. Starting to sign swiftly, Aji watching their friend sign and looking back towards Ruein and Scaron. Staying quiet unless there was no sign of understanding, or whether the signs were misunderstood too. 'We need you to help unite all clans under one leader. All leaders are dangerous. We need a plan.' the person signed slowly, and efficiently, going through each word swiftly and trying to explain the goal that the Nuun society has. "*ahem* Ani, is saying we need to unite as one people and that there are many leaders who can be dangerous. We will need a plan to make a single society ruled by a single person." she cut in swiftly, after a couple moments silence where it seemed that Scaron and Ruein were still lost in their words. Scaron was quiet and felt like what was explained made sense, but also wanted to gather a map of their current whereabouts, or even an idea of how many different groups were residing in the time their in. "Are you currently traveling to any of these groups? Do you know where we can find any of these groups?" Ruein spoke up, his gravelly voice grating in and stirring attention towards him from the gathering they have gathered. ~~~~~~ Elsewhere, Anua felt well enough to meet up with Amaidalora and speak about the task that was given to her. Although Anua was still shaken about her near death experience, she felt that it was from lack of understanding the rituals done in that society and chose to take it slowly. "Amaidalora? Could I speak in your presence?" Anua asked, cautiously broaching the possibility to speak with the woman whom seemed like the enchantress and, in modern times, a type of priestess that holds the highest regard in this society. Amaidalora looked towards her with an almost blank expression, a look that was difficult to read whether to approach and speak of the matter, or wait for a later time to speak upon the matter that bothers her so much. instead of speaking though, she started signing with her hands, them moving swiftly and in harsh dips in the air, but also fluid movements on occasion too, almost like an extravagant swim with no water. 'I am to not speak for the rituals and ceremonies drain that ability I hold to a rasp, but you may speak of your matters and see what may be done. If anything can be done.' her signing slowly explained to Anua, who took some classes on signing, but was a poor student on the subject to where she was mostly guessing what Amaidalora really meant. Anua was able to suspect from the signing; 'I speak... rituals... ceremonies. You may speak.' while, she was not sure if the woman before her chose not to speak, but from experiencing the first ritual, could at least take it as respecting her wishes to not speak currently. "Amai, I am hoping for a map of the land. the different settlements and to maybe find the different settlement groups that are around. Could you show me a way to get to different places?" She asks, feeling that if they did not have a map for her to use, that a different means of traveling or not getting lost would be an excellent boon for her to take on as a skill. Amaidalora was quiet for some time, and simply pointed towards the door which only gave Anua the idea to leave, at least exiting the hut for the head's privacy.
