DAISY’S POV
“f**k love,” I murmured, swallowing another shot of tequila.
The burn slid down my throat, but it still wasn’t strong enough to numb the ache in my chest.
I stared at the nearly empty glass in front of me, laughing under my breath like it was funny. Like my life hadn’t just fallen apart.
Four years.
Four whole years of my life… wasted. on a man who ended up telling me I wasn’t “woman enough” for him.
“You are focused on work, you don't even act like a woman, you have too many responsibilities !! Should I tell you? You are f*****g ugly …
I tightened my grip around the glass as his words kept replaying in my head like a broken record.
I signaled the bartender for another drink.
Because tonight, I didn’t want to think. I didn’t want to feel. I just wanted silence inside my head.
I picked up the fresh glass and gulped down another shot without thinking.
The room spun slightly, forcing me to grab the counter.
“Easy there.”
A deep masculine voice suddenly sounded beside me.
I frowned and turned my head lazily and froze.
Ohhh…
He was…dangerously handsome.
With dark eyes glowing under long lashes, a sharp jawline and very charming pink lips.
Jesus Christ, those Pink lips got me lingering, I can swear they were made to be kissed
“Hey, beautiful.” His cold but flirty voice made me weak in the knees.
‘Wait….did he just call me beautiful?’
‘Didn’t that bastard break up with me because I was ugly?’
For some reason I don't understand, I started feeling strange in my belly. I felt dizzy and my breath hitched like I was getting fried.
I was just standing in front of him but in my mind, I was already kissing him, his head held with both of my hands savouring the hell out of his lips.
‘Why am I feeling so different? Or haven't I encountered someone as charming as him?’. I screamed in my thoughts.
Come back to your senses, Daisy.
This has to be the alcohol.
I shakily attempt to walk away and go take a seat.
Surprisingly he came to sit with me.
He stared at me calmly, one brow slightly raised as if amused by my condition.
Normally, I would have rolled my eyes and ignored him.
But alcohol had clearly destroyed my common sense tonight.
“You're staring at me,” I muttered.
A faint smirk touched his lips.
“And you’re drunk.”
I scoffed softly. “Observant.”
For a second, neither of us spoke.
The tension between us felt strange… heavy. Like the air suddenly became too thick.
Then his eyes dropped briefly to the empty glasses in front of me.
“Tough night?”
I let out a dry laugh.
“You have no idea.”
He studied me quietly, almost like he was trying to figure me out. It should have made me uncomfortable. Instead, it made my heart beat strangely fast.
“Then maybe,” he said smoothly, “you shouldn’t be drinking alone.”
The bartender immediately straightened up when he noticed him. “What would you like, sir?”
“The usual.”
The bartender nodded quickly and rushed away.
Hmnn..Interesting.
Important rich man alert.
He took off his jacket revealing the thin silk of his shirt.
I rested my chin on my palm drunkenly, a burning heat spread through me like a stain lighting a fire through every pulse and vein in my body.
Gaawd..what's wrong with me?
It has to be the alcohol..and the breakup
At some point, his hand brushed against mine, and the simple touch sent heat rushing through my body.
I should have walked away.
I should have gone home.
But heartbreak and alcohol were a terrible combination.
*******************
The next morning……
A sharp headache pulled me out of sleep.
I groaned softly and buried my face deeper into the pillow. The sheets were so soft. Too smooth.
“So soft…”I moaned.
I slowly blinked and opened my eyes.
Oh my…God!
The room looked so exquisite. The ceiling above me is looking so clean.
I lazily shut my eyes and grabbed the duvet
Wait….this is not my room.
I sat up too fast. I raised the duvet and then looked down.
Oh my God!
I'm stark naked.
My eyes almost popped out of my socket.
Memories of last night crashed into my head all at once. Getting drunk and meeting that strange man…we talked and we ended up in a hotel room.
How??
I felt so hot as I recalled everything that happened, I remembered how he slid into me and kept penetrating me.
Oh s**t…He was so good.
Oh no…Daisy.
This is not the time for nonsense. I could hear my head scream.
I just slept with a man…a stranger to be precise.
I haven't been this careless before.
How will I face him?
What am I supposed to say to him?
I have to leave before he comes out of the bathroom.
Panic rushed through me as I got out of bed, almost stumbling because of my headache. I picked my clothes from the floor in embarrassment and quickly put them on. Just as I picked up my bag, the bathroom door suddenly opened.
I froze.
Oh no.
I turned around slowly.
He stepped out calmly, drying his hair with a towel, as if this were a completely normal morning for him. And somehow, he looked even more attractive in daylight. Messy dark hair and…zero regret on his face.
His eyes landed on me instantly.
“You’re still here,” he said flatly
Excuse me? I stared at him.
Wow. I never expected this jerk to be this rude. “I was leaving,” I muttered quickly, avoiding his eyes.
“Good.”
That one word hit harder than I expected
Embarrassment spread through me like wildfire.
He walked past me without another glance, completely unbothered, like last night meant absolutely nothing. Maybe it didn’t.
I tightened my grip on my bag.
God. This man was unbelievably arrogant.
For one second, I almost regretted finding him attractive. Almost.
Without saying another word, I hurried toward the door, desperate to escape before my humiliation got any worse. But just as my hand touched the handle…
“Heyy.”
I stopped.
Slowly, I turned around.
He walked towards the nightstand and opened the drawer before pulling out a wallet which I'm very sure is filled with cash.
My eyes widened immediately as I realised what he was going to do.
No way.
Absolutely no way.
Who does he think I am? p********e??
In no second. I dug into my own bag and took out a hundred dollars and threw it directly at his chest. The notes hit him before falling to the floor.
I crossed my arms and forced myself to hold his stare
“Though, you look good but ....your skills are so terrible and it's not worth some amount of money”. I wanted to humiliate him before he could even try to do that to me.
“What”, the man said angrily.
I moved closer to him confidently, trying so hard to hide how embarrassed I was. “And honestly? You’re not even worth the stress.”
Then I turned around and stormed out of the room before my embarrassment could swallow me alive.
As I was running, I could hear him roar … “Damn ittttt”.
I really pissed him off.
