Chapter Nine

512 Words
It was starting to get dark and the girls had gone home, the kids were in the living room watching television and according to the time table they are to have mashed potatoes and peas for dinner. I already started cooking setting the table then I remembered that I left my phone upstairs. Just incase my dad calls, and I doubt that. I walked upstairs to get my phone in my room, I left it on the bed but I couldn’t find it there, I looked under my pillows and in my sheets but it wasn’t there My room door slammed shut and I turned sharply, I turned back and continued to look for my phone, something shifted my hair to the side and I could feel and hear breathing on my neck. I slowly turned but I didn’t see anything. I need to look for the phone as fast as possible. I checked on my drawer and the light started to flicker, I looked up and it stopped. I turned back and saw a manly shadow on the wall and I stepped back lightly almost tripping over my pile of laundry. I finally sighted my phone on my school bag and I rushed to it before my light bulb shattered into pieces, my eyes widened and my breathing increased. I started hearing a lady humming and I looked around hoping I could get where it was coming from, I moved towards my bed and it became louder, “w-wh-who is here?” I stammered The humming stopped, “juniper” a whisper crossed my hear and I flinched as goose bumps covered me immediately I turned back slowly, my heart racing like crazy and my blood pumping as all the organs In my body could tell that I was scared out of my mind. A hand grabbed my foot from under the bed and I screamed, kicking and resisting. I turned on my flashlight and it stopped, my hair was in my face and I quickly pushed it to the back as I was breathing heavily. I rushed towards the door and ran out of the room; I stared at the passage and the stairs confusedly as I didn’t even know what I was doing anymore. I noticed a little boy figure standing by the wall and I shone my flashlight on it “Kalian!?” I said in surprise, “what are you doing here? Let’s go back down, hurry” I carried kalian and as I was half way down the stairs he started to laugh and he dissolved into sand I stood in shock and my phone fell from my hands, he- he was right in my hands, he was with me. I heard cackling behind me and I rushed down the stairs, a hand grabbed my foot and I fell face down on the stairs, with my vision starting to blur I could see a woman dressed in white but drenched in blood and I blacked out.
