Chapter six

I tried to run back downstairs and she grabbed my foot, I fell on my face, hitting my stomach on the ground with a deep cut to my fore head

I groaned and she jumped on me, I tried to scream but she covered my mouth and growled at me before burying the knife into my stomach, releasing her hand from my mouth I screamed and got up sharply from the bed. Sweating profusely, it was just a nightmare.

“are you okay?”Peter asked as he quickly got up from the bed and I was still breathing heavily, I rubbed my stomach, my baby is still there.

“yeah yeah, i-I’m fine” I said shakily, “it’s okay, let’s go back to bed” he held my shoulders as he gently pushed be back on the bed.

     CHAPTER THREE

“be careful not to hit Cameron with that ball!” I warned as the kids ran outside to play and I turned to continue dismantling the dvd player on the center table in the living room and Martha walked in.

“Hey momma” I said playfully as she sat beside me, she had a blank expression on and her face was looking pale. “you don’t look too good, are you okay?” I dropped the screw driver and turned to face her.

“I don’t know peter, I don’t know” she said softly and I was starting to get worried, “you don’t look good, if anything is wrong just tell me babe” I slowly held her jaw and turned her face towards me

“I feel like I’m seeing things or I’m losing my mind peter, either one of them but something is really wrong with me” tears started to drop from her eyes

“talk to me” I said softly as I cleaned her face with my hand, “I’m hallucinating too much, I just keep seeing things that aren’t there or hearing things” she continued “wait, wait. What if it’s the baby? What if it’s doing this to me? aren’t we not supposed to have a second child?” she started sobbing

“No, don’t think like that babe, of course we’re meant to. Even more kids if we want, I understand that you’re under a lot of pressure that’s why I try my best to help when I’m available” I caressed her head and she placed her head on my shoulders

“I know, you’re doing your best and I appreciate it babe. so much but I just think there’s something wrong somewhere” she sniffled

“should we go see doctor Craig?” I asked, “isn’t that another bill to pay?” she sighed

“No it’s not, besides my conversation with Hawkins went well yesterday so we won’t be low on funds anymore” I forced a smile hoping she’d feel better knowing that we won’t go broke anymore

“you never did tell me what you discussed” she said, “I promise I will but first let’s see doctor craig” I said and she raised her head up

“I love you” she smiled, “I love you too babe” I gave her a quick kiss and helped her up

“what about the kids?” she asked, “Juniper knows how to take care of them, besides we won’t be long” I shrugged

I helped her into the car, “Juniper” I yelled , “coming dad” she yelled as she rushed down the stairs

“what’s up?” she asked casually, “your mother and I want to make a quick visit to the hospital, keep an eye on the kids we’ll be back soon” I said and got in the car.

I sat on the waiting bench as Martha went in to see the doctor, I was in with her before but had to leave when the doctor said he wants to do more invasive tests.

I kept tapping my feet impatiently and she finally walked out of the doctor’s office, “thank you so much doctor” she smiled as she walked out

“you’re welcome, just make sure you take your drugs everyday and try as much as possible not to miss your antenatal” Doctor Craig patted her back

“is she okay doctor?” I rushed towards them, “she’s perfectly fine, the baby is too. She’s under a lot of stress but with time and her drugs she’ll be fine, and also keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t do anything stressful. See you next week Madam” he said and walked back into his office.
