He always kept his personal and professional lives separate, taking his work very seriously.
In just a few words, he affirmed Alina's abilities.
A smile of excitement tugged at the corners of Alina's lips. It wasn't in vain that she stayed up all night to draw those designs.
Everyone shook their heads, indicating no objections.
Adam glanced around and said, "Meeting adjourned. Let's go to the bar at Fashion Square tonight to celebrate Director Alina's promotion." After finishing his words, Adam stood up and walked towards his office.
After walking a few steps, when he was about to pass by Alina, Adam suddenly stopped in his tracks, looking at Alina with a mischievous smile. "Director Alina, you have a keen grasp of formulating product design strategies and plans, organizing clothing designs, as well as positioning, image, and style of the company's various brands. You handle departmental internal and external relations, coordinate the formation of product design teams for development tasks, and allocate new product designs accurately. You have a keen sense of the fashion world, and I believe you can handle this matter well."
The smile at the corner of Alina's mouth froze for a moment.
She forced a smile and replied, "Alpha Adam, I'm only responsible for clothing design. Moreover, I've only been transferred to the headquarters for a month. During this month, I won't be able to complete these tasks."
When she came, she thought the work would be very easy, so she agreed to the transfer.
Leaving behind three children took a lot of determination.
Adam furrowed his brows slightly upon hearing this. It was indeed a problem, but Demi had gone to chase after a man. When she would return was still uncertain.
Adam's handsome face was pensive.
Alina held her breath, nervously waiting for Adam's judgment.
Suddenly, she heard Adam's voice, and she took a slight breath.
"Colin, give Demi a call and ask about her situation abroad," Adam commanded.
"Sure!" Colin nodded.
With that, Adam strode out of the meeting room!
Alina's lips parted slightly. Didn't Demi only go abroad for a month?
Why ask about her situation?
By September, all three children would be going to elementary school. She couldn't stay here for work. She had to return to Shadowfang City.
It wasn't time for her to come back for revenge yet. She wasn't ready to come back. Her plan was for half a year later.
Colin smiled as he walked up to Alina. "Director Alina, let me take you to your office!"
"Alright, thank you!" Alina's smile was somewhat forced as she unplugged the USB drive. After scanning the surroundings to ensure no one was taking photos, she followed Colin out.
This was the new product for this season and absolutely couldn't be leaked.
She had thought her office would be on the twenty-fourth floor, but unexpectedly, it was also on the twenty-fifth floor.
And it was diagonally opposite Alpha's office!
The office was large, spacious, and bright, with a white design style, fashionable and atmospheric, with two desks.
Colin chuckled, "Alina, this is your den, where you'll be weaving your designs. The numbers of various departments are on your desk, and your assistant, Ivy, will join you tomorrow."
"Thank you, Colin, the Sentinel!" Alina smiled gratefully, arranging her materials on the desk.
She carefully stowed away her USB drive in her inner pouch. In the realm of design, chaos reigned, with the looming threat of plagiarism ever present. Alina had experienced her work being stolen before, a lesson she had learned all too well.
Colin observed her serene demeanor, his own lips curving into a subtle smile. His gaze was akin to a sentinel, watchful yet serene, radiating an aura of wisdom. "Alina, if you need anything, do not hesitate to seek me out."
"Agreed!" Alina nodded with a gentle smile, finding Colin quite amiable.
With that, Colin left her den.
Alina's presence and her design philosophy quickly spread throughout the building, sparking both curiosity and envy among her peers.
Alina was alone in her spacious, well-lit den, her fingers swiftly inputting data into her computer. Adam's earlier remarks left her with a sense of foreboding.
She picked up the phone and dialed Anthony's number, a feeling of guilt gnawing at her as she informed him of the change in plans.
"Alina, is everything alright with your work?" Anthony's voice sounded clear and excited on the other end of the line.
"Yes, Anthony, but I won't be able to have dinner with you tonight. Adam Alpha wants to celebrate my promotion at a restaurant in the Fashion Square, followed by karaoke," Alina confessed, feeling guilty for standing Anthony up once again.
"Congratulations on your promotion, Alina. Don't worry about dinner; we can celebrate together the day after tomorrow," Anthony replied cheerfully, genuinely happy for Alina.
"Thank you, Anthony. I'll see you then," Alina replied with a smile.
After hanging up, Alina returned to her tasks, her mind preoccupied with her work.
In Adam's office, the alpha's thoughts were consumed by memories of Alina.
Adam sat in his leather chair, hands resting on the armrests, his gaze fixed on the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Alina's eyes... why did they seem so familiar? Could she be the Alina I've been searching for, or is it merely a coincidence of names?
Since their first meeting, he had been haunted by the familiarity of her gaze, as if she were the Alina he had lost.
No one had left a deeper impression on him than Alina.
It was her desire to learn fashion design that had led him to immerse himself in the industry, hoping to find her there.
Yet, despite years of searching, there had been no sign of Alina.
Adam leaned back in his chair, his forehead resting against his hand. Another sleepless night had passed, his dreams tormented by memories of Alina. After a while, he finally opened his eyes, the cold darkness of his gaze piercing through the room.
Colin walked in, observing Adam's solitude, a glint of meaning flickering in his eyes.
