Seven years later.
At the Jiang City Airport.
A boy of about six years old, dressed in a white T-shirt and blue jeans, with handsome features and sunglasses covering his eyes, stepped out of the airport exit. He was surrounded by a group of cautious bodyguards, with a beautiful woman in a black dress following closely behind, her curly hair flowing elegantly.
"Look, here he comes, Aiden, the child star!"
"Wow! He's so cool!"
"His walk is so charismatic!"
The fans waiting to greet him screamed with excitement.
"Click!" Cameras flashed as people crowded around the airport exit.
Aiden, the child star who had recently become famous across the country at the age of six, was now a household name.
He smiled politely at the surrounding fans, thanked them, and then got into a black nanny car.
Secluded from the outside noise, Aiden quickly took out his phone and dialed a number.
One, two... Aiden silently counted in his mind, and before he could reach the third, the call was answered.
Aiden's lips curved slightly as he coquettishly called out, "Mom, where are you?"
In a taxi on the highway heading to the city center.
"Sweetheart, Mom is already on the highway." The woman who answered the phone was wearing a simple and elegant white dress, with delicate features and charming brown curls, exuding a mature charm.
"That's good, Mommy, remember to come watch Aiden's performance." The voice on the other end of the line was lively and sweet.
The woman's full lips curved into a gentle smile. "Okay, Mommy will come see you later. Send me your location."
"Okay, Mommy!"
The woman smiled as she hung up the phone, the smile slowly fading from her lips.
She looked out the window at the familiar surroundings, her eyes gradually turning cold, her thoughts drifting away.
Seven years had passed, and she was finally back in this city that chilled her heart.
On the day of her college graduation, she was invited to a lavish banquet by the Windham Family, drugged by Alice, and ultimately, after the tumultuous night with that man, she became pregnant and miraculously conceived triplets.
After returning to the Windham Family villa and overhearing Alice and her mother's conversation, she ran out of the villa and disappeared for seven years.
She wasn't the biological daughter of the Windham Family. When she was six years old, she was adopted by the Windham Family after being hit by a car. They said it was adoption, but she was treated worse than a servant.
She had dreamed of finding a job after college, breaking free from the control of the Windham Family. But after graduating from college, she was faced with a trap.
That trap led to her pregnancy, perhaps because the man's genes were too good, she ended up pregnant with triplets.
Two sons and one daughter.
Looking back at herself during that time, no matter how she tried to grasp the fleeting years of her life, she still felt lost!
But youth is a feast of enchantment, appearing in heavy makeup and departing in luxurious understatement.
Seven years had brought out her stability and strength.
And after that night, she wanted to escape from this city. She wasn't seriously injured in the car accident, and the person who hit her had become her good friend. Her success today was all thanks to her.
She disappeared for seven years, but now it was time to come back. She knew there were some things she couldn't escape from.
She wouldn't let go of those who had hurt her in the past, nor would she forget her biological parents.
Alina intended to leave, she had other things to attend to, but the nurse instructed her to keep an eye on the man's condition, so she had no choice but to see it through. She would wait for the man's family to arrive, then she could leave.
As Alina waited, she dozed off by the bedside.
Adam, lying on the bed, slowly opened his eyes, his deep gaze scanning the surroundings. He was in a hospital.
Suddenly, a cellphone rang, repeatedly playing a line of lyrics.
Adam listened to the annoying ringtone, his brows furrowing in displeasure.
Alina heard the familiar ringtone and reached for her phone from her shoulder bag, without lifting her head.
"Hello! Aiden," her voice sounded a bit hoarse from just waking up, a hint of sleepiness lingering.
"Mom, it's Aila," came the voice of her daughter, sounding somewhat annoyed.
Alina became more awake, "Aila, what's wrong?"
"I'm here, Aila, don't worry." Alina listened to her daughter's instructions before softly acknowledging.
After hanging up, Alina stretched her sore arm, stifling a yawn. When she looked up, she suddenly noticed the man on the bed was awake. She frowned slightly, then casually stretched again before slowly getting up.
Her tone was indifferent and distant, "Sir, you're awake. I should go now. You should call your family to take care of you!"
"Did you save me?" Adam's voice was low, with an intimidating aura.
He looked at the beautiful woman before him, with her waves of brown curls, delicate features, and eyes as clear as a mountain spring, emanating a natural fragrance. Her white dress was stained with blood.
Adam had encountered all kinds of women, but he had never seen one as pure and beautiful as her. Yet, why did her eyes seem so familiar?
"Sir, it was the doctor who saved you. I just made an emergency call and hitched a ride into town. Goodbye!" Alina glanced at the time, it was already past six. She realized she wouldn't make it to Aiden's piano competition. She didn't dwell on Adam's unfriendly demeanor.
She hurriedly turned to leave.
Adam's deep gaze followed the indifferent figure of the woman leaving without a trace of regret.
A faintly mocking smile played on his lips. No woman had ever ignored him like this.
Her response was quite interesting indeed.
As Alina stepped out of the elevator, a handsome man in a suit rushed past her on the way up.
Alina glanced at her phone, it was already past six. She smiled slightly when she saw the location her son had sent her; his performance was about to start, and she needed to hurry.
"Adam, so you're here. I've searched half of Jiang City's hospitals," Daniel panted as he looked at Adam's indifferent face on the hospital bed.
"The brakes were tampered with, go back and investigate." Adam's voice was cold and angry, a hint of bloodlust flashing in his deep eyes, a chilling aura spreading through the room.
Daniel nodded solemnly.
"Excuse me, sir, I left something here." Alina rushed back breathlessly.
Adam's lips curled into a mocking smile. Was this woman playing hard to get?
As Alina left the hospital, she realized she had forgotten her handkerchief. She anxiously searched around; it was a gift from her daughter and meant a lot to her.
"Nothing!" Alina's anxiety rose as she pressed her forehead. She remembered holding it tightly in her hand.
She quickly knelt down and checked under the bed, but it was nowhere to be found.
