Horror flicked in Nate’s eyes for a moment, as reality sunk in. I jumped off Nate’s lap and ran to the window, desperate to get an understanding of what could be happening.
Dread emerges in my gut as I watch young pups frantically run into their dorms, with terrified looks on their faces. The sound of their worried screams filled my ears.
Nate grabs my wrist and pulls me to him, before cupping my cheeks in his hands.
“I need you to stay here, do you understand?” His voice remained calm but I could see this panic in his eyes.
“No, Nate I can help!” I exclaimed.
He shook his head, disapproving my idea.
“No, absolutely not. Serena, if anything happened to you it would kill me. I need to go handle this without worrying where you are or if you’re okay, please stay here”.
