My mothers eyes met mine, as she began to tell her story. “Do you remember the young girl I used to tell you about?” My mothers tone sounded hopeful. I thought back to the stories of the fae my mum told me as a child, remembering the story of an 19 year old girl named Clarissa. Clarissa was the princess of the fae island, Midsummer, and she was next in line for the throne. Midsummer was in the north of the fae realm and often found itself clashing with Betwixt. The Queen’s of the islands could never agree with how the realm should be governed and things often got heated between the pair. The Queen of Midsummer believed in equality and she didn’t believe in ranks.
