    Our moment was bittersweet. Ferron had a glow about his smile. But it was a pained smile. I knew he understood that our confessions made little difference to what lies ahead. We had been walking for hours before we stopped. The cavern seemed neverending. Even if it did end eventually, we still have to find Erik.
