"I can't believe I'm actually going with you," Tiana whined lowly as Danielle did her hair. The hairstyle was amazing. When Danielle was finally done, she stood to her feet and looked in the mirror. She looked cute but she frowned when she felt the cool air hit her stomach. It was too exposing in Tiana's opinion.
"Well, it's time you actually go out and have some fun. You only live once." Danielle said before leaving to go use the bathroom.
Tiana blew out a breath of frustration before turning around to look at her backside. Oh god. She looked at her bottom half and felt the sweats hugging her curves. It was not bad but she knew her parents would not approve. If her father could see her now.
Danielle came out of the bathroom and frowned when she noticed Tiana laying clothes out on her bed.
"Uh, what are you doing?"
"I'm changing. I feel exposed." Tiana replied back.
Danielle sighed. Here goes the church girl. Goody girl. They had conversations about each other's background but they did not get too personal.
"Girl, Stop. You are fine. Do you want everyone to know you a goody, innocent girl?"
"Rather that than expose me."
"You won't expose yourself. Come on. We're going out to have a good time." Danielle whined.
"Fine...."
****
Alcohol and drugs. People dancing nonstop.
Tiana was dragged over to a table full of people she associated with. She grew tense when she noticed Carter was sitting there. They picked a spot and Tiana tried to make herself unnoticeable to him. They walked in on a game Truth and Dare.
"Hey, Marcus." Danielle grinned before pecking a guy named Marcus, across from her on the lips.
"Aren't we a little too old to play this game?" Tiana questioned as everyone gathered at the table. She felt a little uncomfortable about Carter sitting across the table. But she felt herself calm a bit when she noticed he was busy on his phone, smoking a cigarette.
"Oh, lighten up, T," Danielle said.
Tiana blew out an annoyed breath before keeping quiet. Why did they have to play the childish game of truth or dare?
"Since we're all playing, who goes first," Marcus spoke calmly. Danielle decided to volunteer herself and she decided to ask Tiana something.
Tiana's irritation grew. She knew Danielle was doing this to mess with her and because she was the low key being a party pooper. Tiana couldn't help but look over at Carter again. She didn't know why she felt the need to know what he's doing. But once again, she was caught when his eyes took a quick glance at hers.
Tiana stopped breathing and felt like it would be forever until she had fresh air again. Tiana felt the old memories of him being so close to her. His hands and his intense glare. His tats and his abs. His muscles were something to grab.
She found him attractive but her conscious was telling her to be aware of him.
"Truth or Dare, Tia?" Tiana was first to break eye contact. She could still feel the burn of his eyes.
"Truth." Danielle smacked her lips.
"Your no fun." a girl she did not know said.
Tiana shrugged and grabbed her red cup filled with water.
"Since your starting off by playing the truth card, Are you a virgin?" Danielle smirked.
Tiana choked on her drink. She heard some of the boys' whistle and few of the girls snickered.
Tiana honestly didn't care about the reaction. She was caught off guard. She wasn't out here giving herself to boys or men, whatever male they are. "Not that it's no one's business, but yes I am a virgin. A proud one at that." Tiana said winking at the girls that gave her a cold stare.
"I can take you for a ride baby girl." Some dude comment causing her to cringe. Boys will forever be boys.
She looked and once again looked at Carter. He was on his phone. What was so important on his phone? She wondered.
"Keeman, truth or dare?" Someone asked.
"Dare." He said simply.
"I dare you to tongue kiss, Sasha." He did the dare and the game continued.
By now, Tiana was ready to leave but Danielle continued the game.
"Tiana, please do a dare." She whined and Tiana huffed in disagreement.
"Pleaseeeeee." More people slurred.
"Fine, alright. Dare." Tiana said in defeat.
"I dare you to make out with Carter. With tongue."
A few people snickered.
Tiana felt her heart stop. She couldn't breathe. She looked up and met his intense glare. She gulped. She wanted to run and hide under the rock but she was trapped. Trapped around all the people.
"I-I can't—" stopping mid-sentence when she noticed Carter moving near her.
The guy who had been smoking and messing with his phone had finally decided to play the game. What a surprise!
He was in front of me. She stood up quickly and created some sort of space between them. "It's up to you, babe." His voice thick and raspy. God, it sounded so good.
Tiana swallowed and looked down at his lips. Pink and delicious! Dang it, he was gorgeous!
My sinful mind was not depriving me of my actions. Tiana kissing a boy and it would be for the first time. She might as well risk it.
Tiana leaned in, feeling the nervousness course through her. She was so close but stopped when he didn't make a move. He was just staring at her, hard.
"I can't. I'm sorry but I need some air." Tiana said.
Tiana needed some air so she excused herself and went outside. The cool breeze hit her skin instantly as she pushed the door open. She sighed and took a seat on the porch step. She was out here alone. Everyone was partying inside, getting high and drunk.
Tiana just needed to getaway. She felt it was uncomfortable due to her never being to a crowded house party.
"Well tell the Lil w***e I want my money by the end of next week or she will see herself six feet under!"
Tiana turned to the angry person and instantly regretted it. Of course, Carter had to come out here.
"I see princess is ready to go."
Tiana frowned and turned to face him. "I am if you must know."
"Calm down, babe. I'm just trying to make small talk."
Babe. Babe.
"How about we start off by you calling me Tiana and not babe."
She could feel his eyes staring strong. "Whatever you say, babe." Tiana ignored that and kept quiet.
She saw him shift in the corner of her eye and she was slightly uncomfortable to find him still behind her. Tiana stood to her feet about to go back into the house when Carter stopped her by blocking her path.
"What are you doing?" Tiana questioned in frustration.
He didn't say a word. He rubbed his palms together as he took a glance at the window then back at her, rubbing his hands.
"You will owe me a deal sometime in the future."
Tiana's frown deepened, confusion conjuring her face. "What?" His random statement caught her.
He got a little close in her face and Tiana took a step back but he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. Tiana placed her hands on his chest keeping him from pulling her any closer.
"What are you do—"
"You owe me a dare, babe."
Before she could speak, he crashed his lips down to hers.
