You let her sleep over? and you left Xena with her?" Khloe asked, scoffing as she stood up.

"The last time I checked, Xena was my daughter and she still is. whatever I choose to do with her is my business. let's eat." Kaira walked towards the table and Khloe stood up immediately.

"What are you doing here? you're not supposed to be here." she fired, rolling her eyes.

"You must be Khloe." kaira said, smiling at her but she quickly frowned when her smile wasn't reciprocated.

"I asked you a question."

"And she'll never reply your stupid question. get used to seeing her around here."

"Good morning Mr Kenney Macbeth,this way please." he walked briskly with kaira walking behind him.

A huge door opened, flashes from reporters greeted them as kaira became tensed.

"Don't get tensed, this is a correction media routine. we're going to clear your name and we're going to have our wedding in court tomorrow."

"I'm nervous." she whispered as he held her hand reassuringly, smiling at the media.

"Excuse me sir, Miss kaira has to be here before we finalize this,are you sure she signed these papers?" the secretary asked, looking at the papers skeptically.

"Can't you see her signature? she signed it." he yelled, hitting the table as Aunt Kathy walked towards them.

"Let me see the files." she looked at it and chuckled. "come with me."

"So you mean she signed these? but why does her signature here say otherwise?" she asked, passing another document to him where kaira signed.

"What do you mean? she outrightly signed them and __"

"And nothing Killian,I know you're behind what happened to my girl and trust me you will be caught. have you ever wondered why I got her engaged to Ken? and very soon they'll be getting married. It's to get you and you're filthy girl. I'll deal with you you'll wish you were dead. Guards."

The door opened as two hefty guards walked in.

"I'll be back." he said angrily before storming out.

"Thanks for today and for driving me back home." kaira said, smiling at him. Her heart beat slowed for a bit when he just got into his car but it began to race again when he returned with a little red box. Her eyes dilated at the sight of the present.

"What's this?" she asked as he opened the box and retrieved a necklace with a locket as a pendant.

"It's a little present for you and Xena. You know I named her Xena because it's your middle name." he said as she gasped. She'd made sure to keep that secret to herself and her documents at the office were confidential.

"How did you know my name?" she asked, trying to clear her head. "Come on kaira,you barely know anything about me but I know so much about you." he replied as she furrowed her brows.

"it's getting late,you should get going." she waved him goodbye and walked back into the house but ken stayed rooted to his spot. He'd noticed a black Camry following them from the government house but he'd shaken the thought away and now the car was parked right there.

His heart beat increased as slight fear crept into him. His daughter Xena was at home and here,the woman he is going to spend the rest of his life with.

He got into his car, placing several calls to his security teams and to the police station. He usually had his bodyguards following him but he didn't want to choke kaira with their presence so he'd ditched them for the day.

He drove past the car and noticed it was empty but he wasn't a fool,he knew it was a bait. The minute he steps out, they'll attack so he drove on and waited for the person to come out.

No one came out. He waited for an hour before his security team got to his destination and yet no one came to drive the car. "Sir, we'll surround the house and make sure they're okay in there, Susan said the house is clear from her end." His chief security officer said as he nodded.

"I'll get going, check out that car and check every little detail it holds." he said as three gunshots spiralled through the air, sending everyone to the floor.

Two guards shielded him into his car and was about driving away when kaira rushed out of her house, terror written all over her face as she shook violently.

Ken got down from his car, trying to stay low and at the same time going to meet Kaira. She had tears in her eyes and her clothes were torn. He froze, looking at her as realization sank in.

The person had gotten into the house without them knowing and all these while he'd been waiting outside,the culprit was inside doing whatever he liked.

"It's alright, it's alright." he whispered, hugging her shivering body. "I shouldn't have left you, I should have been there." he whispered, hugging her soothingly.

"I'm so scared, I'm so scared." she said,her breathing coming in pants as he patted her back soothingly, leading her to the car. "You'll be fine."

"So tell me, what happened?" he said after making sure she was comfortable on his huge bed. She had stopped shivering and had even rested for a while after feeding Xena. Xena had began crying as soon as she saw kaira's state, it was just as if she'd known something was wrong and she didn't stop crying until she was in kaira's arms.

"Aunt Kathy wasn't in,I got in and met the shock of my life. it wasn't Killian." she sipped her tea, staring into space.

"He said he'd get back at me for killing his woman, i__i struggled but he smacked me and__" She shivered violently,the cup shaking hard in her hands as he took it away from her.

"You can rest and talk about it tomorrow." he said lowly, getting into bed with her and wrapping his hands around her.

"It's alright, just go to bed I'll look into the issue tomorrow."
