The sharp pain spread from her lower back, and she fell like a rock to the ground. Spreading like wildfire the pain was intense and she knew that this was it, she was going to die today. There was nothing she could do about this, it was a fact, but she could try to save the little one. Using what strength she had she crawled to the girl, "Lotte...run!" The words burned her throat, 'Please run', desperation seeped through her bones like water, drowning her. 'Why didn't she run? Lotte! Run?!' Lotte stood from her hiding spot and, her golden eyes full of determination, and finally she turned to go. 'She was going to live' she thought, relief washing over her. But it was too late. A man came up and pulled Lotte by her little arm. He yanked her and an audible crack was heard, she screamed in agony yet he did not let go, he pulled harder and took her away. The last thing she saw was Lotte's terrified eyes as the man walked off with her, she couldn't bear the terrified look in Lotte's eyes and instead looked away from her, next thing she felt was the weight of a knee on her back and a knife at her throat, it burned as it slid over her throat, her life flowed from her, warm as it drenched the earth. Her last thought was, 'I'm sorry I couldn't save you.' -------------------- Mark hauled the little thing into the cage at the back of the truck. She wouldn't stop screaming so he hit her in the back of the head and knocked her out. It wasn't like her screams would make a difference, there was a lot of screaming going on in the background. Tonight was a good night. His brothers were finishing up, it looked like the child was the only one left alive, that was fine with him. She was young, she would probably last a while before becoming useless. He was a little bit pissed off that Henry, 'That dumb f**k!', had killed the female prematurely. He had been told countless times to wait till they were all in wolf form before shooting them up with silver. But no. The i***t shot first. That was some good fur that would be lost, but at least the girl could be of use. After a while they started piling up the wolves, they had at least 15 wolves that could be skinned, but the other 3 kills that were all Henry's doing had to be burned. They were still in human form and would be of no use. Once that was taken care of, all of them piled into the trucks and drove off. It took about 2 hours for them to make it to their camping site, they had to trek deep into the woods to find the wolves, but it was all worth it. Once at camp they started to separate the spoils of war, work had to be done, fur had to be removed and treated before they all got drunk from celebrating. He almost forgot about the girl, going back to the truck he finds he in the same slumped position he left her in, her arms already healed from the break. These monsters are resilient. Opening the cage, he put a muzzle on her, you can never be too cautious, next is the collar the silver engraving on the outside will stop her from trying to take it off. He ties her to the post that's placed outside his tent, he cant wait till he gets home, he's been itching to test out some new gadgets.
