“Somethings wrong.” I was moving towards the door before it had even knocked. Something was wrong with Daisy. I could feel it.
Startled Aden looked up from where he was reclining on the bed. His eyebrows arching into his hair line. “What…” he was cut off as I swung open the door.
Daisy stumbled forward, her hand still raised to knock. I caught her easily. My hands keeping her on her feet and drawing her towards my solid chest. “What’s is it?” Instinctively I smoothed her hair from her wet cheeks.
Daisy’s red rimmed eyes lifted to mine. They were shiny with tears.
She had been crying.
Rage engulfed me. Who ever had made her cry would pay for it. They would pay slowly and with pleas.
