Chapter 5“My favorite,” Abuela says as Beto kisses her on the cheek in greeting, taking the bouquet from his hands. He doesn’t know the name of these flowers besides the roses, but does remember her favorite colors are orange and yellow. At least he made the right choice there. “Did you have a good day yesterday?” he asks as they go inside her house straight into the kitchen where she already has lunch waiting. How she is so organized when Beto sometimes feels like he is trying to juggle six things at once, he has no idea. “It was wonderful,” she says while filling a vase with water.
