Chapter 6He and Aiden are dating. Beto can’t quite believe it, sure he can’t have this much happiness in his life. All the anguish being around Aiden used to give him. All the guilt for seeing how it hurt Aiden every time he pulled away. Aiden is still here, trusting him, giving him the ultimate in second chances. Beto wants to be better for him already, hating how there is a permanent wrench in his chest calling him to both reach for Aiden and to step back from him so no one around them will know.
Aiden pats his leg beneath the table away from the gaze of anyone else. “You doing okay?”
Beto covers his hand with his own. “Yeah. I’m good.”
Aiden is so understanding, so patient with him. But Beto needs to be more, to give Aiden more than he is. Even here in this bar meeting Aiden’s friend
