My heart breaks for Skylar and her people. Skylar has finally fallen asleep but I am worried about her. It’s been two days since she last fed. Keenan has checked in on her a few times but she barely responds to them. I am sitting on the bed with Sky sleeping on my lap, when there is a knock. The door opens and in walks my mother. “How is she?” I shake my head and look back to my mate. “She is not good mom. I don’t know what I can do to help her.” I feel my heart break again. Sky’s mom is still hanging on but still has not shown any signs of improvement.
My mother comes over to sit on the bed and placed her hand on Sky’s back. “Xavier, you just have to be here for her. I know that she is hurting right now. She is going to need you more than ever.” She tells me. I know that she is hurting.
