For nearly a month Morgan had his hands full of the Pack Affairs as an Alpha who had just tossed out his last living relative as well as the entire Beta Family. He had survived 3 challenges to his position as Alpha from outside actors, as well as one from in the Pack, none of them aware that he had found his fated Mate, and although not anywhere near accepting one another yet, they spent every moment they could together which was strengthening his Wolf far more than he thought possible. She however was buried deep in cases from across the Kingdom where Humans had been trying to dictate how the Packs in their territories would live and operate. In a month of work she has scheduled 4 separate cases for trial while outright beating the outright overreach of several more just by threatening the rightful litigation these Packs had claims for. Within a single month, word of who she was had begun to spread that she was far more than the pretty skirts she wore. One attorney from Yanica State however didn't get the memo as she walked into the courtroom for a hearing about a passenger rail line that he thought she knew nothing about. "You sure you are in the right courtroom doll?" Chester Walter of the Yanica District Attorney's Office sneered at her as she looked at him. "You must be Mr. Walter, I suppose if you apply the term Mister loosely perhaps. I am Abigail Houston, representing the Packs of Yanica in this dispute. You sure you want to start this circus before we discuss settling this outside of court?" she asked as he laughed. "Honey, you are about to get a lesson in practical law. The Packs signed a contract and have not upheld their end of it, we will be countersuing for those damages." He said as the judge entered and called the hearing to order before she set her briefcase down on the table and took notes while the man went on and on about his filing and counterclaim. "Ms. Houston?" the judge asked amused as she stood up. "Thank you your honor, I actually have a few points to make about the same contract that Mr. Walter and the Yanica Government keep referring to in their arguments about Agreements. You see, we have amended the complaint we filed from general accusations to detailed incidents that the respondents are well outside of the agreed upon Service Levels." she said as she activated the projector showing the Maps of the Human City and the Pack villages connected by the rail lines. "Here you can see that the area in blue, is well within the service level agreements. These 4 areas in red however, have only a 30 percent Service Level as stated in the contract. Level 1 service impacts in the blue area, 1 hour response time. In the red area, 3 days minimum. All performed by the same team, just because it crosses the line from Human owned, to Werewolf. So in accordance with the terms of the contract when penalties were demanded and your client refused to pay them, payment was no longer required until service levels achieve an average of 80 percent for 3 consecutive months. The respondent may make its claims against us for non payment of the agreement, but we will also be pursuing a discrimination case as well as corruption on the Human side of this deal. Every benefit has gone to the Human City of this province, on the cost of the Packs who also call it home." Abigail said as she sat down and let her filing speak for itself as the judge looked at the attorney for the State. "Mr. Walter, have you bothered to read the arguments she has presented against this contract in her written reply that she just totally ignored when it was her turn to speak? Instead choosing to totally obliterate what you argued in your statement to this court." Judge Henry Davis asked seriously. "No your Honor, I have not had the opportunity to read her pleadings before the court." he admitted as he opened the file and his eyes went wide on the 200 page response filled with diagrams and formulas that he knew would kill his case once it was all examined. "Your honor, we need time to have these materials authenticated. There is no way we can just take the word of some upstart attorney." he tried deflecting. "Your Honor, our 6 expert witnesses would be more than happy to explain to the court on the record about their exam of the Yamican Transit Rail. In fact you may call any of the ones listed in the brief and ask them to verify their work in that report." Abigail answered as the judge looked at the District Attorney. "The court has had this file for a week, and found the time to review it before today's hearing. The fact you did not, is disturbing Mr. Walter. Especially as it is clear your client had to know this report was coming, as it took the experts noted 6 months to collect and review all the evidence. Respondent motion for directed verdict is denied. I strongly suggest you settle this case with the Petitioner counselor, if it returns to my court for review in two weeks it will be to finalize the trial dates. So, if we are meeting then, I expect your response to this filing at least 7 days prior with petitioner response due two days after that." the judge said slamming his gavel. Abigail closed her briefcase and walked over to the other table. "Still waiting for that lesson, you have 3 days to decide what it will be. Personally I smell blood, so I can't wait for this to go before a jury." she said chuckling before she walked out of the courtroom so she could go home. Morgan was training with his warriors again, their routine keeping the Pack together as they grew accustomed to the changes that had been brewing for some time. The constant challenges were getting to everyone, especially since they knew the entire reason they appeared weak right now was because their Alpha had found his Fated Mate. Each one of them could feel her Luna powers melding into the Pack, infusing them with her strength and power, albeit slower than would be normal as she still didn't live with the Pack. Morgan felt her plane land with a thud of his heart as she reentered the range where he could sense where she was, now that he knew who and what she was. The entire Pack knew where he was headed when he took off running, determined he was going to meet her at his apartment. He knew it was the one time she ran in her wolf form herself, her assistant responsible for collecting her bags as she hated flying and had to get away from the planes. He got to her apartment just before she did this time, finally winning at the little game they had been playing each time she landed. When he saw her wolf chuckling at his reaction to her bubble gum pink fur, he knew she wasn't joking as she led him into the apartment and shifted without a care as soon as the door closed. "Go ahead little mate, unless you are scared to be alone with me." she teased as she walked into her bedroom as he shifted and was butt naked. "Little?" he asked making her laugh before she threw a towel over her head so he could catch it. "I don't want to know yet." she said pulling a shirt over her head and into a pair of leggings. "I think I deserve a dinner date tonight for actually getting here on time." he said as she turned to see him wrapped from the waist down. "Hmmm." she said tapping her chin as she looked him over. "I don't know anywhere I could take you dressed like that. Since you don't have any clothes, how do you expect to take me anywhere?" she asked clearly teasing him as his mouth hung open remembering the outfit he had shredded in his haste to beat her here. "Guess you will have to check and see if some of the stuff in the closet will fit." she said walking past him into the living room as he walked into the closet and was surprised to see clothes in his exact size. It was definitely her style though as it was far more expensive than he was used to buying for himself. "Why do you have clothes for me in here?" he asked as he got dressed amazed that it was almost like it was made for him. "Why would I not? It isn't like your suit size is some state secret, in fact your sister was more than happy to find out what it was for me." she replied from the second room to her apartment where her fancy wear was at. "Why does it seem like you are always two steps ahead of me?" Abigail laughed as she stepped out wearing a red dress while he wore an outfit that could almost pass for a formal suit. "Perhaps because it is part of my job to be ahead of everyone else. If I get caught flat footed, my clients usually pay the price for it. So, if we are going to try and make something work here between us, it seems practical to have some things here for you. Just like my closet there has enough for me to spend a few days without the need to go shopping." she said as his eyes opened in surprise at how she said her closet in his Pack house. "What closet in the Pack House?" he asked as he followed her into the kitchen before they walked out and she locked the door. "My closet, in the Pack House." Abigail repeated easily as she looped her arm in his and took him into the crisp autumn air as they headed towards her favorite restaurant in the city. "I wasn't aware you even had a room in the Pack House, let alone a closet." he said as she smiled. "It used to be your mother's, sealed by your sister and given to me when it was revealed I was your mate. How do you think she had your mother's wedding dress when she got married a few years ago? Your dad was never allowed access, now your sister and I share it." she explained as realization hit him that it was the Luna Suite that his sister had unopened at last. It was after several hours of talking, eating and drinking that Morgan was walking Abigail back to her apartment when three Wolves stopped them in the Human City. Abigail could tell it was another Alpha and his Beta and Delta. "Thought I told you to stick to your own turf twerp? Didn't I warn you that the big bad world isn't somewhere you wanna be?" the Alpha said to Morgan who growled before Abigail put her hand on his chest. "Surely you aren't stupid enough to be talking to me gentlemen, for I have no clue who you even are. So before there is a misunderstanding that I have to correct for you, how about you walk away and forget you ever met me or anyone I happen to know." Abigail said to him calmly as she felt her Mate purring under her touch and the threat she had just made to the Alpha of another Pack. "Too bad my Luna isn't here to teach you a lesson little b***h. Protecting your Alpha like that is a joke." the Alpha said to her as she smiled as she looked at him. "I have no Alpha to hold me back dumb ass, as for your Luna, she wouldn't ever stand a chance against me. Just like you don't, so take me advice and leave before you get your ass kicked by the little b***h who isn't afraid of the little stupid wolf." she said before he swung and she met his fist with hers. His fist broke against hers, her strength far more than anyone would expect to come from a woman of her size. Her speed of kicking the s**t out of the Beta and Delta was unmatched as Morgan looked at the Alpha who had been menacing him. "I am not her Alpha, however it appears she dislikes being called a little b***h. Maybe you should rethink your challenge if you can't even defeat a lone wolf female." Morgan said laughing as they walked back to her apartment.
