The Evergreen Legend

Chapter Three

Riah was just getting done with math when three girls walked over to her, slapping the books she was holding out of her hands. Riah stepped back a little shocked, in her high school she was friends with everyone so she didn't know what was happening.

"Well girls, it looks like we have fresh meat, your one of them barnet twins or whatever your last name is. I've seen your brother, I can see he is way better looking than you!" The girl with short blue hair seemed to be the leader of this '"Group'".

"At least she doesn't look like a shriveled-up blueberry." Suddenly a voice from behind Riah rang throughout the school causing the girls to gasp. When Azariah looked at her she noticed that the girl had boyish black hair which was like a beautiful night sky. She wore a pair of sweatpants with an oversized rock t-shirt and black work boots, she also had a few tattoos. Riah's heart felt like it was about to bust out of her chest, she had no clue as to why but she could feel her cheeks get hot.

"Lillian!! How dare you!!" Lillian walked over to Azariah helping her up, she kept her eyes on the group of girls as she spoke.

"Jina hush up honey, your not pretty when you're mad." Riah tried not to laugh as Lillian held onto Riah's hand tightly, Jina said nothing and walked away.

"Thank you, my name is" Before Riah could finish Lillian had disappeared, just then her brother ran up to her panting, he was holding a bag of books for his studies.

"I saw what happened but was held up by my environmental professor, who was that girl? Are you ok? Did they hurt you at all?" Riahwas quiet, she could only think about how beautifully gorgeous Lillian had looked, "Azariah Bennett?! Come on answer me!!" She finally snapped out of it and answered her worry-wort of a twin brother.

"Yes I'm fine, that girl's name was Lillian! She was so pretty and she helped me against bullies! Also no they didn't hurt me, I'm perfectly fine." A group of students including Jina walked up and looked at Fox.

"You're invited to the new" The bell rang before a guy with brown hair and blue eyes could finish, the group of students hurried to their classes as did the twins. When lunch came around both Riah and Fox had assignments to get done by the end of the day, so they worked on them at that time since they had free period next, the cafe is open all day for students and professors. The group of students from this morning came up to them once again this time looking a bit more serious than before, Jina sat next to Riah which made Fox give her the evil eye, next thing they know a small fire appeared on Jina's trey, they put it out before the professors came in luckily.

"Anyway, hi there newbies! As I was saying before, you guys are welcome to the newbie party, each year, when the freshmen come, we have this blow-out party in the dorms. You don't have to come but you are welcome to join us if you'd like." Jina took Azariah's hand in hers and smiled, just then Riah could see Lillian in the corner of her eye walking over, looking a little fed up with these people.

"I don't think they want to join you and Jina's cult Brian, they seem much smarter than that." She grabbed Riah's hand once again, this time, however, she pulled her away. She waved to her brother to follow them, so he picked up all her books and his, starting to run after them. Once they made it far enough Lillian pulled Riah into a hug whispering something in her ear.

"I miss you so much Ria-bug, take this and whenever you feel scared hold it and say my name, I'll be by your side as fast as you can say dragon's breath." Riah's vision went black and when it came back there were two little girls in a forest, they were running around playing tag and laughing.

"Ria-Bug!! I'm going to tag you!!" A girl with long black locks of hair spoke as she ran after the other little one with locks of fire-red hair like her own, the black-haired girl kinda looked like Lillian.

"Lilli!! You'll never catch me!!" Riah giggled when she tripped, as soon as she did so, Lilli ran over and hugged her tightly, she blew softly on her knee and kissed it.

"Ria-Bug, I love you more than anything, no matter what my parents say, I'll always love you." Just then a pair of hands grabbed Riah causing her to gasp, Lilli tried to kick the person holding her Ria-bug but was also soon grabbed.

"No Please!!! Riah! Please let her stay Mommy!! Daddy please, I'm begging you!! She's my only friend!" Lilli tried to get free with tears in her icy blue eyes, she noticed that Riah also had tears streaming down her face.

"Lilli!!! Lilli!" Riah and Lillian tried to reach out to each other but were unsuccessful, the weather around them started to fasten up, when Riah's vision came back, her brother over her, he had his hands on her shoulders screaming her name.

"Azariah?! Are you ok? What happened?" Riah was silent until she looked down seeing a bracelet with the name Lilli, the name that was said in the vision? She thought back to the last words she heard Lillian say to her 'I miss you so much Ria-bug', was she 'Ria-Bug'? She looked up at her brother and started crying, all he could do was put his arms around her wrapping her into a big hug.

"What happened Riah?" After she calmed down she pulled Fox into a private spot to explain to him all the stuff she witnessed in not only this vision but the one she had last night too. Fox looked at Riah in awe as she went on and on about all of it, but then, Fox said he had been experiencing the same things only his second vision, was different. But after talking, they both went back to the cafe to pack up for the day, the time flies when you're with someone you love.
