CHAPTER 15:The Revenge Begins

514 Words
The next morning, shocking news exploded across Silverstone City. Blackwell Holdings' shares had dropped by thirty percent overnight. The financial world was thrown into chaos. Business analysts struggled to explain the sudden collapse. News channels interrupted their regular programming with breaking updates, while investors frantically called their brokers. Panic spread through the business community almost instantly. Inside Blackwell Holdings, employees whispered anxiously in the hallways as rumors spread from office to office. Jason's father, Richard Blackwell, immediately called an emergency board meeting. "We're losing millions every hour!" one executive shouted. "Our largest investors are pulling out!" "Several banks are demanding immediate explanations!" Outside the company headquarters, reporters crowded the entrance, cameras flashing as security struggled to keep them back. Everyone wanted answers. But no one knew who had started the attack. And behind everything... Was Ethan. Inside Kingston Corporation's executive office, Alfred stood beside the large glass window, reading the latest financial reports. A satisfied smile crossed his face. "You learned quickly." Ethan remained silent as he looked out over the city skyline. His reflection in the glass barely resembled the young man who had once worked part-time jobs just to survive. "No," he said quietly. His eyes slowly turned cold. "I simply know what it feels like to lose everything." He remembered the humiliation. The betrayal. The nights he had gone to bed wondering why the people he loved had abandoned him. This wasn't revenge born from anger. It was justice delivered with patience. Alfred nodded with respect. "What's our next move?" Ethan closed the report and answered without hesitation. "We're just getting started." --- Meanwhile... Jason smashed another expensive vase against the wall inside his mansion. Glass shattered across the marble floor. His breathing grew heavier with every phone call bringing worse news. His father had stopped answering him. Several business partners had already cut ties with the Blackwell family. Everything was falling apart. Vanessa stood silently near the doorway, too frightened to speak. She had never seen Jason this angry before. Then he suddenly turned toward her. "This is your fault!" Vanessa's face turned pale. "What?!" "If you didn't humiliate Ethan... if you hadn't treated him like trash... maybe he wouldn't be targeting us!" Tears instantly filled Vanessa's eyes. "I... I didn't know..." "You never know anything!" Jason shouted. "You kept saying he was a nobody!" His words hit her harder than any slap ever could. For the first time, Vanessa had no excuse. She thought back to every cruel word she had spoken. Every time Ethan had tried to explain himself. Every moment she chose pride over loyalty. A painful ache spread through her chest. Deep down... She knew Jason was right. She had thrown away someone who had loved her unconditionally. Now, the man she once looked down on had become powerful enough to shake an entire corporation. And she could do nothing except watch from the sidelines. As silent tears rolled down her cheeks, one painful truth became impossible to ignore. Some mistakes couldn't be undone. And somewhere in her heart... Regret had finally begun consuming her completely.
