Lacie must have thought he was out in the garage because she started talking to Marc at a conversational volume. “You still upset about Sora using the garage?” she asked. “No,” Marc replied. “It’s working out.” “He seemed pretty annoyed at you earlier, when we got back.” “He was. For good reason. We’re okay now though.” She hmphed. “All right. Good. My least favorite part of having roommates is trying to play the negotiator.” The conversation was comforting. Lacie had his back, and Marc wasn’t just putting on a front. Sora let himself drift off for a little while, feeling safe enough around these people to sleep without a locked door separating them. * * * * Evenings and weekends became Marc’s favorite times.
