Despite the passage of time since high school and all of the milestones in his life that followed, he had to admit that she still held a peculiar fascination for him. After all, she had been his first love, albeit unrequited, and he'd been smitten for years, as evidenced by the fact that he still remembered her childhood phone number, a number he'd never dialed a single time. But the whole thing was silly, a teenage crush, and he was glad that Evelyn had forced him to get it off his chest so that he could put it behind him once and for all.
