The other two men, they reasoned, while certainly menacing, had not brandished any weapons until they fired at Rico's car. But Larry was plainly carrying a g*n as he bolted toward them. 'Would he shoot at them if they ran? Could Paul catch up with Larry in time if they just stood still? Would anything they did cause Larry to turn around and see Paul, and maybe kill him?'
