I placed Kayla gently on our bed.
She was still unmoving but I could hear her breathing. I took her hand in mine as I waited for the doctor to show up.
It was not long before Kelvin burst into the room with a tall and slender woman. Her dark hair was tied up in a bun and she had on glasses. She was wearing a long black dress under her white lab coat. I figured that she must have been at the party too.
"Is that the doctor?" I demanded without giving him a chance to introduce her. "You're the doctor, aren't you?" I asked in an impatient tone as I turned my attention to her.
The woman nodded. "I'm Doctor Lexi. I need you to tell me exactly what happened," she introduced herself and went straight to business.
