My eyes flew open.
I sat up immediately. My head was pounding hard. It had to be from the blow I had received to the head from Darius. My vision staggered in and out of focus.
"Kayla!" I heard my name.
At first, I did not recognize the voice until it sank deeper into my brain.
"Killian!" I called and got to my feet abruptly.
That was when I realized that my hands were bound together by a rope which was attached to a long bar against the wall. So my action pulled me back and I fell.
"Be careful! Kayla!" He screamed. I could hear the worry in his voice clearly. He also sounded like a caged animal.
I tried to pull at the rope but I could not set myself free. It was tightly done. I gave up and turned to Killian to see why he could not come to me.
