Chapter 2

1048 Words
The encounter with Elias left me unsettled. I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something wasn’t right. The rogue werewolves left our territory without any incident, but I couldn’t stop thinking about Elias. Over the next few weeks, I saw him more and more often. One night, I followed him. I needed to know what’s going on. As I followed him through the woods, I saw something that made my blood run cold. A pack of werewolves, led by Elias and few other rogue werewolves, were attacking a group of humans. I watched in horror as Elias joined in the attack, tearing into the humans like they were nothing. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I felt sick to my stomach. Over the next few weeks, I tried to reconcile my feelings. I wanted to be with Elias, but I also couldn't ignore the atrocities I witnessed. As the days passed, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. I had a nagging suspicion that he was hiding something from me, something that could destroy us both. I then came up with a very stupid idea. In other to decipher what was wrong, I decided to come close to him. We met up for dates and late night walks and talks. He told me about his travels and how he'd been searching for me for years. I told him about my life and how I'd been trying to move on from the pain of losing him. Which was actually true. He had left me without any trace and It hurt even till date. As the night went on, I felt myself falling for him all over again. His strong presence and confident demeanor made me feel safe and protected. But I couldn't help feeling like something was off. He seemed distant at times, like he was holding something back. I tried to push the feeling aside, but it lingered in the back of my mind. One night, as he slept, I crept out of our den and began to search for answers. I didn't know what I was looking for, but I knew I had to find it. The moon was high in the sky, casting an eerie glow on the forest floor. I could feel the chill of the night air on my fur as I moved stealthily around the house. And then I found it. A book, hidden away in a secret compartment, filled with dark magic and ancient spells. I knew then that he wasn't who he seemed to be. He was a werewolf, but not just any werewolf. He was a powerful sorcerer, capable of manipulating the very elements themselves. I needed to know more. I needed to know what he was capable of and why he had kept it a secret from me and the rest of our pack. As I delved deeper into the book, I found more and more evidence of his powers, from controlling fire to summoning the rain. I spent hours reading through the book, trying to understand the magic that Elias possessed. I learned about spells that could control the minds of others, and ones that could create illusions so powerful that they could fool even the strongest of werewolves. The more I read, the more frightened I became. I couldn't believe that the man I loved was capable of such darkness. I knew I had to confront him about what I had discovered, but I didn't know how. The next morning, Elias woke up to find me sitting at the foot of our bed, the book open in my lap. He looked at me with a mix of fear and sadness in his eyes. "I didn't want you to find out like this," he said quietly. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked, trying to keep the anger out of my voice. "I didn't want to scare you away," he admitted. "I didn't want you to think I was a monster." "You are a monster," I spat out, unable to control my emotions any longer. "How could you do those things to those humans? How could you be so cruel?" Elias hung his head in shame. "I had to do what I had to do," he said softly. "I couldn't let them hurt our pack. I couldn't let them hurt you." "I don't know if I can forgive you," I said, my voice trembling. "I need time to think." Elias nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I'll give you all the time you need," he said, before leaving the room. I sat alone in the empty room, my mind racing with thoughts and emotions. I had always known Elias to be strong and fiercely protective of our pack, but his actions had crossed a line. How could I be with someone who was capable of such cruelty? As I sat there, lost in my thoughts, I heard a faint whisper in my ear. At first, I thought it was my imagination, but then I heard it again. "Nae," the voice said. "You must be careful." I turned around, but there was no one there. I was alone in the room, or so I thought. The voice continued to whisper to me, warning me of danger and urging me to be cautious. And that's when I realized that our problems were far from over. There was something lurking in the shadows, something that posed a greater threat to our pack than anything we had faced before. I knew that I had to find a way to protect my pack, to protect myself, and to find a way to forgive Elias for his actions. But how could I do that when the world was so uncertain and dangerous? With a heavy heart, I resolved to do whatever it took to keep my pack safe, even if it meant making difficult choices and facing impossible challenges. I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The thought of losing everything I held dear was almost too much to bear. Little did I know, the worst was yet to come. As I left the room, I couldn't help but wonder what fate had in store for us, and whether we would be strong enough to face it together.
