Chapter 14: Role Reversed

Blaze’s pov.

It is now lunch time. The other three periods went by like a blink of an eye. Being without twins and Jeremy was not that bad as I thought it to be, instead, I made some acquaintances and passed those lectures.

What didn’t happen was, being nervous like I mostly am around new people, I didn’t just quietly went inside the classroom and quietly sat on my designed seat. I was tired of being insecure about my social skills and also didn’t wanted to rely on someone to come to me and be my friend, so I tried my luck.

I had previously noticed a girl sitting beside me in this lecture, but I never thought to start a conversation with her, and it was not like I needed to do it anyway, but today, I tried. When I sat down on my seat and our eyes met, I smiled.

Yes, I freaking smiled!

She was quite shocked at first, but got over it soon and gave me back a polite smile and lucky for me, her friend who she hangs out with was too absent, that helps me to grasp her attention.

I found out her name was Ocean, and she was named after the beautiful ocean eyes she has. Apart from her unique beautiful eyes, she looked like a regular teen, quite pale face with redness from hormonal acne spread here and there, light brown hairs, and a petite figure. We chatted a little bit, about ourselves and when finally when we reached that awkward point when we don’t know what to talk more about, which was quite soon, we return to our work.

For many of them, it might not be a big deal to be happy about, but for me, it was really a huge step I took towards my social life and it made me quite proud of myself. After all, it was the first ‘friend’ I unofficially made by myself.

I was too busy thinking about that ‘friend’ I made, that while taking the sharp turn to the left, I failed to see the body of another person walking my direction, who too failed to notice me and we bumped.

Having a sharp reflex, I managed not to fall and balanced myself on my feet but the guy with whom I collided was not lucky enough, and me being kind, I immediately went to his help and held him through his torso, his hand too went to grasp my shoulder to balance himself to not fall on his butt making us in a steady position. What I was not expecting were the tingles that spreading through my body when my eyes met his gray ones.

His eyes are so beautiful! Was the first thought got into my mind.

Looking now this close into it, I notice he had a little bit of blue tint in them, confirming to me that his wolf surely has beautiful bright blue eyes. So bright that his human form too has a tint of it on them.

White wolf and blue eyes! His wolf must be very beautiful.

While I was busy fascinating about his, and his wolves’ beauty, my wolf was busy squirming inside me in disgust, angry that I am fantasying about different males other than a mate.

These are the time when I am kind of glad that I and my wolf are bound together and cannot communicate with each other do like other werewolves, else she would have eaten my head out and also would have disturbed my fantasies.*

The position we were in was a typical romantic pose, roles were reversed, but it doesn’t matter. It was romantic! From the collision to the catch, it’s an every princess dream.

Also unknowingly, again my eyes were piped to him. It was almost impossible for me to remove it and look somewhere else. His eyes too were searching for something in mine. We both were so busy looking at each other that everything around us was a blur. It was lucky for us that it is lunchtime and no one is in the hallway, else it would have been so embarrassing but looking at his beautiful eyes would have been worth it.

After learning every aspect of his eyes, mines went to his nose, that perfectly carved nose with the sharp tip proudly sat like a mountain, so perfect and symmetric not even a flaw and then my eyes went down towards those lips, Every time I have either seen them stretched in a smirk or lipped, but this time they were parted in a very sensual way. It was like they were calling mines to them. My eyes again went to his and then I noticed he too was examining mine, which too was parted as my breathing was now stopped knowing he is too close to me. Suddenly our eyes again met but this time they were darker than before, his pupil was almost covering his iris, and lust was clearly written in them. Those orbs were ordering me to come closer and unknowingly, I too started decreasing the gap between us as if he was my master and I am his jinn, just made to complete his wishes.

My eyes started closing so that I’ll be able to enjoy those sensations, but before our lips met we were brought back from our trance by a sudden sound of clearing of the throat. I was startled by that sudden noise and removed my hands from his torso that made him fall down the ground with a loud thud on the. To which he groaned in pain.

Felt like déjà vu!

“If I was going to end up on the ground, why bothered to save me before.” He commented standing up.

“I-I am sorry” I apologized as I had nothing else to say back to him. It’s not like I purposely did that.

Looking up to see who interfered with our moment, I met with Liam’s amused eyes. He had such a big grin plastered on his face that was mocking us by screaming ‘I saw it all’ and it was very creepy to look at.

I looked at him with my confused face, silently asking him why he is grinning. To which he replied,

“Isn’t he should be saving you from falling?” He taunted us.

Knowing he saw us in that positing was enough to make me embraced and turn my face red, making him more amused.

“Shut up, Liam” David roared at him but it looked like Liam was having too much fun in teasing us to give up and move on.

“Bro, it was romantic though! You, under her… and that s****l tension? was damn thick!” He commented to David, chuckling. Making me redder than I already was.

Why won’t earth swallow me whole?

David growled and I think he mindlinked Liam something, that made him raise his hands, and then he silently went away, but a still a smirk plastered on his face.

Now it was just me David and awkwardness in the hallway. I was too embarrassed even to look back at his eyes so I just stared ahead, not knowing what now to do.

Who said confidence comes with power. I know I am more powerful than him, but my confidence is still negative when compared to him because I was able to feel his eyes boring into me, not at all affected by Liam’s previous comments.

I really have to work on it.

I simply tucked the loose hair from my ponytail behind my ear and said finally mustering the courage to meet his eyes,

“I think… um, I should go, see you later!” I spoke and ran away from there without waiting for his reply.

All the way to the cafeteria I was thanking the moon goddess for sending Liam to interrupt our kiss because I am sure I would have regretted it afterward. My attraction towards him is deadlier than I thought, either I should get over it or stay the hell away from him and both of them are as easy as cutting a piece of cake.

Note the sarcasm!

*(A/N I think many of you will be confused by the line “I and my wolf are bound together” so here is an explanation. If you have read other werewolves books, you’d know that the werewolves’ human and wolf can talk to each other and each have a mind of their own, but in especially Blaze case, her wolf and she can’t have a conversation with each other but can feel the emotions. That’s also the reason she can control her hearing strength, smelling strength, and other wolfish activities because they basically have the same soul and mind but have a little pure wolfish part. More about her these abnormalities will be discussed in further chapters.)

Fun fact: “While writing this chapter my mind was only chanting two words ‘less clichieness’ I didn’t want this chapter to be a go-to romance filler and I tried my best to make it as unique I could and came up with that ‘roles reverse scene’ and turns out I found it very interesting.”
