Chapter 7: The Misunderstanding

Blaze’s pov
Her eyes widen by my confrontation and I don’t know why she seemed afraid and stuttered.
"I-I was n-not frowning,” There was no need of a comeback, I just raised one of my eyebrow challenging her, and with that she accepted her defeat with a huff.
"I am sorry; it’s just a childhood crush. You know, we were living together since we were in diapers; he was very protective of me so you know...Um it is a little bit of attraction. Nothing more! I will overcome this in no time ....and also in a year I will find myself a mate then maybe I’ll forget him, that’s all. I will not be between you really! yo-”
“Pheny...Pheny... stop.... What?”
This was not what I was expecting.
“I mean it, I won’t come between you two” She said as if she was stating the obvious.
“Umm sorry? What do you mean by coming between?” I asked her.
“You and Jeremy? Aren’t you together?”
Oh!
Hearing that, I was unable to control my laughter bubbling inside me, so I burst out laughing. My eyes wee about to tear up but seeing her confused face, I managed to squeak out a few words between my laughs.
“There is nothing g-going on between Jerry and I !”
“Huh? But you two are so much cozy with each other and I had never seen him this comfortable with anyone in my whole life.” She said with wide eyes.
“He is this sweet because he had lost the bet against me” I said her, exaggerating ‘this’.
“What bet?” She asked so I explained her everything,
Starting with me asking him help to reach Alpha’s mansion, to him stating he will kick me out of the house.
“...So, as your father let me live with them, I said to him now he has to live with my irritating self”
I end up chuckling at her as she let out a huge sigh of relief.
“Sorry Blaze, I thought you both like each other, Jeremy is very protective one in this pack, and he had never warmed up with anyone without a purpose since his mother was captured by hunters.” She sighed sadly. Maybe remembering old bubbly Jeremy she mentioned indirectly.
Hunters! Mad humans, that’s what the civilian humans call them. They are the people who had accidentally came to know about our existence and try others of their kind to believe the same. We don’t know why, but they think that we are monsters , beast, kidnappers, and do not belong here in the same world. There are not many hunter attacks in our history because many of them are captured by the human government and admitted into mental asylums, but whenever they did, it ends up very brutal.
They had never killed our kind on the spot, but capture us and torture us until we give up and beg for the death.
I had heard about Jeremy’s mother, I may have not met her but by hearing her tales I can say she is a very strong lady. Bertha had informed me about her, how she managed to run from the cage, and how badly she was treated there. Though she was badly injured by wolves-bane and silver, she managed to fool them and reach back in the pack. She was so badly injured that now she can’t walk anymore, neither in human or in wolf form but still she is considered as bravest and most respected female living.
After our little chat, we both decided to go towards the ground as we both had a free period but were stopped by Jeremy’s call from behind,
“Hey can I join you?” He asked while coming towards us.
“If I said no will you leave us alone?” I asked him.
“No”
“Then why asking” Pheny replied with raising her eyebrows.
Not wanting to answer, he just shrugged in response, so we together went toward the ground and sat in the sunlight.
For the rest of the lecture we talked about the students and the functions soon going to be held by the school.
Stephanie kept on babbling about the Anastasia and her wants to be queen-b of the school but as her Alpha, David order not to, she acts like one. I still don’t understand why people like to be mean and what they get being ‘mean’.
After our talks we stood up from there as the bell rang, telling us to go to the next lecture.
This is the class when we all are going to be in the same lecture, ie., PE, so we headed towards the gym. The four of them were waiting for us, including Anastasia, who made a disgusted face seeing me.
“Why does she hate me?” I whispered to Stephanie.
“She is just jealous, ignore her” She replied and I just rolled my eyes at her response.
Jealous? Really, she is way prettier than me!
We entered the girls changing room, and changed into flexible yoga pants and the uniform top with the school logo in the upper left. Thankfully uniform has pants and not shorts, else my leg would have been freeze by now.
The uniform top had a perfect fit on my waist which was highlighting my curve gracefully. It was perfect, not skimpily tight or hobo lose.
As I and Stephanie entered the gym, we heard a wolfish whistle, which left me stunned.
“Ignore them too, they just want to get inside our panties. Whenever they try to do something with you, kick them where the sun doesn’t shine” She said and glared those boys, but that thick heads just winked.
Stupid humans!!
We then ignored them and went to join the other girls. This period was the easiest for them all and the toughest subject for me. I had never played any game in my life. I am fit as I used to run for many hours, both in my human form and wolf but Games? I had never played any. In fact, I didn’t know about any game that exists. I thought I had heard about games like football, soccer existence but “what are they?” “I don’t know!”
Our coach is male, with an athletic body and 5"10 ft height. He was quite young, probably in his mid-thirties and as he came, we formed two lines, one for girls and others for boys.
“Good morning students, I’ve heard there is one more student added in our class? Please come forward.”
Hearing that, I came forward and said,
“Good morning sir I am Blaze Moon.”
“Welcome Ms. Moon to the snow-woods high.” He said with a nod of approval.
“Thank you sir” I replied.
“So as this is your first day in our class so you chose a game to play.” He said leaving me in deep thoughts.
I didn’t know what to say, so I said the first game came in my mind.
“Um? Dodgeball?”
“Okay so dodgeball it is.” He said and then I aligned at my place.
Can anyone teach me what’s dodgeball is? .....please!!
“So let’s divide team yeh?” A Blondie boy said gaining our attention and then coach said,
“Stephan and David, I chose you both captain so choose your team”
Stephan went first and chooses Jeremy and then it was David’s turn to choose. I thought he would choose his friend, Liam but he chooses... me?
This is STRANGE.
Lucky me, Stephanie was in the same team which gave me a bit of relief. Anna was last to choose and unfortunately was in ours but Stephanie’s presence calmed me a bit.
“Pheny?”
“Hm?”
“How do we play this game.” Her eyes widen due to shock but she let it go and taught me.
“Just prevent yourself from being hit by the ball.”
This is simple.
The game was truly simple. After almost half an hour of play, only I and David were left in our team, and the three male werewolves in the opposite one.
Unfortunately, our team lost in the end, but it was a very good first game of mine and I was pretty happy about it.
There was still no conversation between me and David and don’t know why, but I liked to keep it that way.
The clock struck two and it was our time to leave school. There was one more class after P.T that I had to share with David, but it was not very bad as we kept ignoring each other.
As I was opening the door of Stephan’s car, Jeremy stopped me and said,
“Stephan, Stephanie, you both go, I and Blaze have to go to the city to buy some parts for our model. Blaze you are coming with me, I am not buying it all alone.” He said making me confuse.
What model?
Without letting me reply, Jeremy pulled me towards his car and pushed me inside it and clipped the seat belt, followed by closing the door.
What a gentleman.
As he entered the car, I asked him,
“What was that?”
“First you explain, what was that in the first period”
Ohooh!...

Fun fact: when I was writing this chapter, I forgot that Blaze home schooled and knew nothing about various sports except running and wrote the whole chapter making her pro but after some days, when I was re-reading this chapter again it strikes me and then I re-wrote that scene.
