Chapter 6: This Stupid Urge To Protect

Blaze’s pov

The rest of the lecture before break went smoothly, he was not in the other two classes with me, and ‘coincidentally’ Jeremy is in all lectures which I am in.

The bell rang, telling us the third period is over and its lunch break. After we exited our math class, we headed towards our locker. I don’t know why but the crowd again started to look at me as if I am from some other planet.

Like really? Give this girl some break, and your eyes too!

Some girls gave me death glares and some happy, smiley faces. Some boys looked at me with adoration and some with hunger in their eyes, as if I am a piece of meat.

As if there things were not giving me enough of anxiety, that same smell again entered my nose making it reach to the top level.

My head again started spinning because of the accumulation of my powers.

Jeremy must have noticed it, so he held my hand tightly, silently telling me to calm down.

I was trying my best to ignore that powerful smell but it was too strong to be ignored and the crowd starring me was also not helping.

“Just ignore them.” He said, holding me by my waist when my legs started to wobble.

He thinks their stares are intimidating me.

I just shook in my head and murmured under my breath, ‘only if you’d know’ and then walked towards the cafeteria.

As we were reaching nearer and nearer, the strength of smell was getting stronger stating he is in the cafeteria.

Where else he would be at lunch break. My consciousness snapped me.

Well, fact!

I can’t ignore him every time.

We entered the cafeteria and there was he was, sitting in all his glory between Stephan and an unknown boy.

I don’t know why, but after I had a view of his perfect face I became all good, his smell that was irritating me was no more an unpleasant one.

He was just a few feet away from me, glaring at the food as if it was his prey.

It was like he felt the look I was giving him, so he turned his captive eyes towards me, sending shivers down my spine.

The scene that happened in the first period was repeated; As soon as my green eyes met his grey one everything was a blur. It felt his emotionless eyes were guarding a mystery. I knew by a look at him he had many secrets hidden deep inside him, but so as I. He was a mystery to me, but so was I. Heck, I was a mystery to myself but I just wanted to unlock him, solve him and know what picture he is after rearranging correctly.

I was snatched away from my thoughts with Jeremy calling my name.

“Blaze....Blaze...Blaze?”

“Huh!” I asked after getting back from my world.

“His name is David, I know he is very handsome, but staring at someone is creepy.” He said smirking at me.

“I-I was not staring” I stammered, I knew it was the worst lie that I came up with, the whole cafeteria might have seen us staring at each other but what said was said, I cannot take back.

I heard Jeremy murmuring something like ‘you were eye-f*****g each other for past five minutes’ but when I asked him to repeat he said,

“Whatever.... let’s get the food they all are waiting, and also you would be able to get a close look of him” ending up with a teasing wink.

His playfulness was something different which I say today, and he was being that a lot.

I never had thought he would be this playful! I had assumed him to be a serious one.

I just nodded at his reply and aligned myself at the line where food was given to us, with the tray in my hands.

Today’s menu was lettuce salad, mashed potatoes, and steaks with flavored milk. I took my tray of food and followed Jeremy to our table. There were two empty seats, one beside Stephanie but that means I had to sit in front of David and I bet I won’t be able to, and the other one was beside that seat which was in front of the unknown boy.

I would prefer the second option.

But before I had decided, Jeremy already had walked towards it and sat on it, leaving me no choice but to sit in front of him.

I huffed and sat on that chair.

“Hey, new?” The unknown boy asked.

His smell said he was the beta, a normal one. I simply nodded in reply and gave a polite smile.

I was able to feel a glare on me but I again ignored as I did in my first class.

“I’m Liam, you?” he took out his hand for me.

“I’m Blaze. Nice to meet you.” I placed my hand above his thinking if it would be some different kind of handshake.

“The pleasure is all mines, beautiful” but instead, he took my hand and kissed my knuckles leaving me in shock.

No doubt he had a charming personality with short blond curly locks, hazel eyes, and chiseled shaped jaws but the pull David releases is incomparable.

As Liam kissed my knuckles, I heard three inhumanly growls. One from Stephan, other from Jeremy and the last one from...David

Liam was stunned by everyone’s reaction and backed off raising both his hands in surrender and my face turned red with embarrassment.

“Sorry, I didn’t know I have some tough competitors.” Liam said playfully looking at everyone.

“Stay away from her Liam; she should not be your play-toy, understood?”

I had never seen Stephan using his authoritative tone before. Trust me, it was really scary and I would never want to hear it again in the future. It was so strong that it also made me bow down my head.

“I understand Alpha Stephan!” He said giving a playful salute in the end.

“You better be.” Stephan nodded at him and that topic ended there.

After that we all went back to our food, chatting, smiling, and making fun of each other. The boys talked with one other and I and Stephanie talked about the latest fashion and music. Everyone was having their fun time except David who was busy glaring at me and me who was trying my best to ignore him.

I wonder, why no one is noticing him doing that.

“Are you really a human?” Liam suddenly asked getting everyone’s attention leaving me shunned.

I looked at Jeremy remembering our early incident and asking silently with my eyes if he not said it to anyone, which he reassured me with a node. As I was about to answer Liam, Stephan interfered,

“Her smell is like one, so she would be nah, Asshole!” he said slapping his backside of the head.

“Language” Stephanie scolded her brother which led to their usual bickering that made me giggle.

It’s very cute when they both bicker like a toddlers.

I was enjoying it all this time but Jeremy scolded them making it stop.

“What are you both? Five?”

“Jerry, you ruined all the fun.” I whined and looked at him narrowing my eyes.

“Aww, you want some fun?” he asked teasingly.

His playfulness was too much today. If one can play two will make it much better... So let’s play it damn! Mr.

I leaned further to him and flirtingly said

“Are you thinking to give me?... fun" His eye widen in surprise as his game backfired on him and I was controlling my laughter. He didn’t reply due to shock so I continued,

“Jerry yo-”

“YOU SLUT WHO ALLOWED YOU TO SIT HERE, CAN’T YOU FIFTHLY GIRLS UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE ONLY ONE NIGHT STANDS AND NOTHING MORE!!” A girl cut me off and started shouting at me.

I looked at her brown orbs which were fuming in anger. She was beautiful with platinum blond long hairs and petite pale figure. She was a high-rank werewolf too but.....

Personality did defined how ugly she actually is.

“ENOUGH ANNA, ONE MORE WORD AND YOU WILL REGRET IT!!” Jeremy shouted back at her which made me stunned.

By this time all the eyes in the cafeteria were on us.

“Oh! So she is your slut, you were the one to made a rule not to bring your w****s at our table and you broke it. WOW!!” Then she looked at me pointing her long manicured nails which were sharper than a nail... and said,

“You...GET UP FROM MY PLACE, you w***e,-”

“ANNA!!” Jeremy hold’s her hand and snatched her away in front of me which made her stumble backward.

All the time I kept myself silent. I know my outburst can lead to a release of much power which would make everyone here suspicious and I won’t let this happen, just for an ego-fight.

“Any more ill words to our sister and I will not care about your status.” Stephan said, his voice was very calm but cold as ice making it very intimidating but by the look at that girl, Anna’s face, she seemed to care any less.

“Anastasia, can’t for once, you stop being Jealous of girls more beautiful than you.” Stephanie now said with a disgusted face.

“Oh, you dwarf, can’t you shut your good-for-nothing big mouth yo-”

“THAT’S IT”

I lost control of my mouth because of the thoughts running in my brain.

That’s just enough for today’s drama. I had read that the high schools has a lot of drama but this needs to getting over now. This girl is too full of herself to apologies, someone has to stop this fight because it is no near cute to the twin’s fight.

“I had heard enough. I think you should learn to control the words you use to others. I am quiet and not replying to your bullshits, don’t mean I am deaf. Whatever you said to me, I ignored, and whatever enmity you have against me keep it till me, no need to drag my sister in between, and yes I am their sister, not anyone’s w***e. If you don’t want to be near me then ‘get lost’ because I’ll be with them.” I said pointing at the table.

Everyone was pretty shock by my sudden outburst. As soon as I felt content with my speech I ended it and drag Stephanie outside the cafeteria with me, but before leaving,

“You all stop eavesdropping to other’s conversation and mind your own business... the show is over!” I shouted to everyone, had the last look towards David and Liam being disgusted that how could be they quite when their pack’s girl is bullying someone. What kind of Alpha and Beta they are.

“What happened Blaze, why are you dragging me” She said when I continued dragging her outside.

In reply, I just gave her a sly smile and said,

“Why were you frowning when I was flirting with Jerry?”

Fun fact: Anastasia was going to sit on David’s lap when she saw no place to sit but then suddenly it struck me that I am not writing cliche high-school story.
