He was here in her apartment and had just dropped a bomb on her. Not many people knew that her mother was sick. Had been fighting cancer for 3 years and they had raked up a mountain of debt. She had been trying to pay it off but had made very little progress and to make matters worse her mother wasnt getting any better. “What would be the terms of this arrangement?” she finally asked after thinking about it. “One year marry me for one year and then all the medical bills will be paid and you will be compensated as well.” why would you want me? You could have your pick of almost any women…many smaller and better looking at me. She murmured looking at the floor. She couldn't even believe he was here but here he was. “You are what I want and I always get what I want.” his eyes darkened with desire and she remembered there previous night. She blushed and looked at the floor again. “Think about it, Amber that all I'm asking. One year and all your mothers debt gone”. He stood up and set a card down on one of her books beside her. When you have your answer. Call this number and details will be sorted out and just like that he was gone. She sat unmoving her a while. Just staring at the door where he had left. This could not be real. Marry MIcheal Blackstone?? But have all her moms debt wipped clean? She knew deep down that her mom didn't have much longer and that even her mom worried about the debt that was owed to the hospitals and clinics. She sighed and finally got up and walked around. She didn't have much, almost everything she owned came from thrift stores or clearance racks. Her apartment was small and she had done the best she could to improve the situation but even as she walked around she knew that things could be better. Most of her money went towards the medical bills. She was fortunate that her job let her work remote and she only had to go into the office once a week. She sighed again and looked at the card, it was a white card with black letters at the bottom with a single number on it. She debated and put it on her kitchen counter and walked away. This was not what she had envisioned when she went to the gala last night. She had figured that it would be a boring night and she'd come home early and curl up with a good movie but that was absolutely not what had happened.
