Emma woke up with a sigh but her eyes widened when she noticed the difference in her surroundings, her bed was softer and then it clicked in her. Last night's memories came flowing into her mind like a tsunami and she tensed up for a second. Getting off the bed she limped to the dressing table as she gazed at her swollen bruised face in the mirror. The fingerprints of the slap were gone but the swelling and slight blueness were still there. A thin dried line of blood on her lower lip and her forehead. Her foot was swollen to its fullest.
