Chapter 29 By the time they’d reached the cars parked outside the house, Dane was leaning on Sean so heavily he was about to collapse. They staggered up against the nearest car, panting, Sean taking inventory of their current physical states. Away from the magic, he felt all right, if completely exhausted from what he’d done. He’d have some bruising from being flung to the concrete, but his coat had softened the blow. Dane, however, didn’t look good. Head tilted back, he laughed into the cold air, his cheeks damp with what had to be tears. Guilt stabbed through Sean.
