Chapter 16: Where is she

Alpha Burke

I open my eyes and it feels like there is a construction site in my head. It takes me a few minutes to adapt to my surroundings, the last thing I remember was the beta family trying to take over the pack. It takes me a minute to finally figure out I was in the dungeon. The way my ankles and wrists were burning told me I had silver shackle’s holding me down. I heard a growl and across from me I saw Derek. “What the f**k happened?” he asked as he came to. “We were blindsided by the betas.” I admit with a chuckle, immediately it hit me the little fucker said he had my Luna. I started calling her name hysterically but no answer. I tried again knowing that there is no other place they will keep her, that was when Grant entered and the expression on his face made me want to c***k over laughing. “Where is she?” he hissed at me. I was unable to answer him as my laughing fit continued. “I will not ask again old man, where is she?” my laughter only infuriating him more, after a few seconds I am able to control myself and look the little boy straight in the eye. “You tell me” I said staring him down while keeping my face emotionally neutral. “You were the one that said you had her.” It was now Derek’s turn to chip in and this almost pushed the little wanna be alpha over the edge. “You lost her, must say I am not surprised Grant, you were never good with the ladies.” Derek had a way to make the true cut like a knife. “You have one last chance to tell me where the b***h is hiding before I start killing you pack members, one by one.” His words made my blood boil as I stand up and through my body towards my cell door where this little bug was standing ready for me to squash him. “Make a threat one more time little bug, I promise you silver will not be able to hold me back.” I spit at him. “Beside your whole problem is that you think my Luna was smart enough to escape but dumb enough to think she will tell me anything knowing I will be your next target.” I retreat to stand against the wall to reduce the burden of the silver on my ankles and wrist. Grant is pacing up and down the hall, I observe him carefully wondering how I could have missed all his little red flags. He was not a leader and will make this pack suffer every day. “Guards, take our former alpha to the interrogation room.” he instructed 4 young boys standing at the doors. “You see Burke, you might not know where you Luna exact location is but you know at least where she may be.” He turned to one of the young guards again. “Bring me the first wolf you can find outside, it is time we show the little big wolf here, when I make a thread, I act on it.” He then disappeared into the dark.

Grant

Dealing with the former Alpha only made my blood boil, but I cannot get their scent out of my head. I smelled her in the forest, I am so sure it was her, but it could not be. I mind linked my mother to meet me at the hospital. My mother was already standing outside when I go there. “She isn’t in there is she?” I asked my mother as she walked towards me. “We are not sure.” she answered in a whisper. “Somehow some of the pack members were able to barricade the ICU after you and your little friends took away the Luna and Iker…” she paused giving me a disappointing look. “How do you not leave someone to make sure this doesn't happen.” I look at my mother with only anger, how dare she disrespect me like this. “You will not speak to me this way mother, why haven’t we taken down the barricade, yet?” I asked her. She came closer looking around. “Our full back up forces have yet to arrive, and somehow the pack members are disappearing one by one, and no one seem to know where to. Thus, there is not enough warriors.” She turns around placing here hands on her hips and shaking her head. I was about to argue further when she swings around and punches me with a right hand straight in the stomach closing the distance between us quickly. “Do not ever disrespect me, Grant.” She whispered in my ear. “If I snap my little fingers all of this disappear. I have done my part for years and neither you nor your father was made to rule. The only reason we can even think about it is because my father and brother are willing to help us. You might be my little boy but continue with your disrespectful antics and you will end up like your father.” I looked at her finally recovering from the pain in my stomach. “What did you do to my father?” I asked through my teeth. “Now don’t stress your little head about that my baby wolf. He is still alive.” The smile on her face when she says it make me swallow back a lump in my throat. This woman was totally mad. “But just barely and if you continue to behave this way that might be only a temporary situation.” She whispers softly as if she was calming me down. I looked at her with empty eyes. Suddenly two warriors came running outside. “Beta’s” they bow their head slightly out of respect. “We have someone inside the ICU wing a spy. Rose and Elaine escaped they are no longer in the building. We suspect they jumped out of the window.” I feel my blood boiling once more, how do I keep losing these Alpha females I asked myself Easy. Loki answered me You keep underestimating them. I feel myself getting frustrated with the little fucker and he hasn’t even said much yet. I did not ask your opinion mutt. Well, you are getting it. You are not dealing with any other b***h you are dealing with two true blood alpha bitches here. You keep on thinking they need a man to save them, well that is where you are wrong. True alpha females are chosen by the moon goddess herself, they are unlike any other she wolves. They are created to tame the strongest Alphas and keep them grounded. Legend says that when they were created all the female gods came together and gave the moon goddess a small piece of themselves. Let’s start with our current Luna her wolf came from the goddess Gaea. He goes silent and I get frustrated that he thinks I ever paid attention to mythology. You’re a mythical creature, i***t. Fine i***t I will tell you. Gaea possesses over mystical powers of an undefined nature. So, when our mother goddess created our current Luna, she asked the earth goddess for a part of her spirit and like all goddesses she gave it. Although our Luna consist of all the alpha female characteristics which include fearless leadership, high emotional intelligence, strength she also got a special ability from the goddess to help her lead next to their Alpha. I bet you cannot tell me what our Luna’s are. Again, he goes silence, and I cannot figure out. I try to think if I ever seen the Luna display any special power, but she was just like any other alpha wolf and she was not a gifted wolf either. I am stuck with a total i***t. Loki passed up and down waiting for me to make revelation. Cut it out mutt you are only giving me a headache if you are so smart just tell me. I wait for an answer and just before I lose all my patience and push him to the back of my mind he finally answers. Fine, your current Luna has superhuman durability i***t. I stand in my place not sure what he means. I should have paid more attention in the mythology 101. It means that she is invulnerable to conventional injury and terrestrial disease and like you know True Alpha wolf can.... “GRANT” I hear my mother voice coming through. “Yes, mother.” I say between grinned teeth. “Can you please pay more attention to our problem and less to the mutt in your head. We have bigger fish to fry at this point.”
