Alpha Burke
As I am standing in my office watching over the training grounds, I could not help but think back to the first day I stood in this office as Alpha. So young and naïve, I hoped that one day I would hand all this over to my son. The warriors were looking good, we have never been stronger than now. As I stood at the window there was a knock at the door. “Enter,” I said keeping my eyes on the training grounds. “Morning Alpha” I heard Beta Fabian's voice as he entered the door. “Good morning, Fabian, how are you this morning?” I kept my position knowing that he will be joining me at the window soon. “I cannot complain my old friend.” Fabian and I were not the best of friends, but I have known him since we were pups. We stood for a few seconds in silence just watching the warrior’s train. “Have you spoken to the Luna yet?” Fabian broke the silence. I released a sigh not wanting to be pressured on this issue. “If you are referring to me telling her that her only child will not be Alpha of this pack, no Fabian I have not spoken to her yet,” I said with irritation in my voice. “Alpha I do not want to pressure you, but we all need to be onboard before plans can continue,” he said staying calm and unfaced by my definite anger towards the situation. “Well excuse me if I was not in the mood yet to tell my wife, my very strong-willed, strong-minded, true alpha wife that I have decided that her only child is not worthy of taking the alpha title.” I turned around and took a seat behind my desk. Fabian came around my desk and took a seat on the couch in my desk. We sat there in silence, suddenly there was a knock at the door. “Enter,” I said not really wanting to deal with anyone else at this moment. A tall blond young man came into the office. He was about 7’1 and had broad shoulders. He had similar features to the Beta, probably because he was Grant was his son. “Morning Report: Warriors are training like always we have a 100% attendance, there will be a few of the Junior warriors moving over to the senior group as of tomorrow. There were no incidences reported during patrol shift and everything seems to be calm for now.” Grant stated as he stood in front of me. “Thank you, Grant. That will be all for now.” He turned around and exited the room. Fabian and I continued to sit in silence as I thought of the best way to speak to my wife.
Luna Lilly
As I was sitting in my office making sure everything was in place for tonight’s party when my husband barged in like always. “Good morning my Alpha to what do I owe the pleasure?” I asked not lifting my head up. “We need to talk” by his tone I could hear this was serious. “So how can I help you,” I said finally looking up into his bright blue eyes. “We need to talk about Rose.” I could not figure him out at this moment. “Okay?” I sat back waiting for him to continue. “I have made my final decision regarding the future of the pack; Rose will not be the Alpha.” His words were final, but I refused to accept them. My daughter was a true Alpha and deserved to lead this pack. I could feel my wolf Lilibeth trying to take control. “NOOOO” I growled knowing very well that I just shook the whole packhouse. “NO, Woman do not try to.” he started but I cut him off “You dear Alpha seem to forget that you are not the only Alpha in this pack. I might go by Luna, but I am just as strong-willed as you, and there is no way I will allow you and Grey to take away my only pup’s birth right” I had his full attention. It was not often that I and Lilibeth spoke at the same time. I took a deep breath trying my best to calm down, knowing that if we continued at this rate nothing will be solved before our daughter Rose and what I believed to be her mate Hunter showed up tonight. “Screaming at each other will not get us anywhere, how about I get us some tea and I can try to explain my reasoning to you,” he said knowing very well that I was about to bite off his head. “I will link Mrs. Potts to bring up some,” I said as I took a seat on the chair closest to the window that looked out over our beautiful private courtyard. It did not take long for the tea to be delivered to my office. As we sat drinking our tea, I decided to break the silence. “So are you just going to sit here or are you going to speak.” He knew better than to react to the sarcasm in my voice. “Lilly, I know we do not always see eye-to-eye on everything, but we have always found a way to agree on the best for the pack. I need you to hear what I am saying and understand why I took this decision” he looked at me with only love in his expression. “I am listening, please try your best to convince me that you are not currently the worst Alpha this pack has ever had” I knew that I was being unnecessarily difficult. “We both know that this pack is not ready for a female alpha. The warriors need a strong male.” I could already feel Lilibeth in the back of my mind. “I know you didn’t just say that our daughter is too weak to show a few disrespecting men their place, dear” by the way he was staring at me I knew he could see my wolf in my eyes, and he knew better than to test Lilibeth. “That is not what I am saying my…” “Burke Williams call me ‘your love’ one more time… You will not be soothing me up to follow you blindly in this decision. You have seen how hard she has worked over the last 12 years.” “I know she has been preparing and I do have a lot of respect for that but our pack traditions say that she cannot become Alpha without a mate. And to be honest with you it has been 12 years since she turned 18 and she is yet to meet her mate. That is unheard of which only leads me to believe her mate is either dead or she does not have one.” I only stared at him wondering how he can be this blind. “Is that really the only two things you can come up with?” I asked as I was really wondering how my mate has never made the connection I have. “Yes,” he said without trying to explain himself. Lilibeth continued to push in my brain. I swear if he and Grey are planning an arranged marriage for our pup... I will tear them to shreds. Calm down Lilibeth – I will not allow it. She huffed and puffed but retreated to the back of my mind. “So are you telling me that if she has a mate, you will make her Alpha?”. “No, but she will then be Luna.” I took a very deep breath to calm myself and Lilibeth. “But you just said…” “No, is what I just said, if she has a mate that is worthy I will make him Alpha and she will lead beside him as Luna, just as we have done all these years but she will not be Alpha, that was my father and his father and his father’s wishes that this pack will always be led by a male alpha, I will not disappoint them and bring shame to this pack, I refuse to change our laws”. “Shame?” at that moment I did not know the man in front of me. I wanted to rip his head off, how can he say our daughter, that has worked so hard to prove herself to him is something to be ashamed about? I walked to the door and open it, luckily, we have been married long enough for him to know what that meant. As he started walking to the door, he looked deep into my eyes. “Please Lily do not be like this,” he asked while looking deep into my eyes. I turned my head to the door signalling him to leave. He stood there for a minute just staring at me. “Fine.” He let out a sigh and exited my office, as he was out the door I smacked it closed so hard that one of the windows in my office shattered from the shock.
Grant
As I exited the Alpha Burkes office, I made my way out of the Alpha house to my studio apartment in the Beta house. Our packhouse was different from other pack houses, instead of having one large castle-like packhouse we had three, three-story houses next to each other. The middle house was the Alpha house. The first floor was the packed common recreation rooms, these had tv, gaming consoles, large leather couches, pool tables as well as a huge dining hall with the main kitchen where the staff would prepare food for all the pack members. The second floor consisted of the Alpha and Luna offices as well as their main living area which included two large bedrooms each with its own bathrooms and walk-in closets. The bedrooms were so big that each had its only living area space as well almost as big as my apartment. The top floor was a beautiful entertainment venue, important functions would take place in this venue, it had a small kitchen that was linked to the bottom kitchen and bathroom area which guests could use during these events. A lot of pack members would use the venue for special occasions such as weddings, or important conferences and Alpha meetings would also be done in this venue. On the left was the Gamma house, where the Alpha house was for entertaining the Gamma house was for hosting an important guest from other packs. The first and second floors looked like a guest house with about 30 spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The third floor had the Gamma offices and three bedrooms like those of the Alpha quarters but just slightly smaller. It also had a studio apartment where the future Gamma would move in once his training starts. Hunter will probably move in there when he returned home. His mother was already moving his things in as she arrived this morning early with his moving truck. Our house was on the right, the first floor had a fully equipped gym where warriors would train every day. The second floor held two studio apartments – One for the alpha in training and one for the beta in training with offices for each and the third floor was had the Beta offices and living courters. It had 4 bedrooms each again with its own bathrooms and living spaces. As I entered our house, I saw a few warriors putting in extra hours. I was proud to lead these warriors, they were strong and always pushed themselves to be better. As I got to the door of my apartment, I saw that my door was open, this only meant one thing my mother was waiting for me inside, no respect for privacy. As I entered, I found her in my small kitchen washing the dishes. “Mother, what are you doing here?” I asked as I took a seat on my couch. “Cleaning this place you call yours; how can you live like this?” she said from the kitchen. I just rolled my eyes as we had a cleaning staff that cleaned all areas of the pack houses every day. When she finished, she came and sat next to me. “I heard Rose is on her way home, can you believe it after 12 years. You haven’t seen her since she was… “I looked at her as she was giving me information, I already was aware of “Your point is?” I asked rhetorically as I already knew what she was about to say. “Well maybe she would be the one, you know…” I knew exactly where this conversation was going, and I knew it had my father’s name written all over it
