Brody didn’t show up the next afternoon, but Finn saw Emily and Reece strolling with a group down the beach.
“Hey,” he called. “You seen Brody?”
Emily separated from the group and ran over the sand towards him. She stopped and braced herself on her knees as she panted.
“Not seen him.”
“Do you have his number?”
Emily straightened, and nodded eagerly. “Yeah here—
Finn shook his head. “Can you just send him a message for me?”
She pulled her phone from her jacket pocket and tapped it to the back of her other hand. “Erm, yeah sure.”
“Just tell him I’ve got his board still and he should come and get it.”
Emily hummed, and tapped the message out on her phone. “Do you want me to put kisses?”
“Kisses?”
“Yeah from you.”
Finn pinched the bridge of his nose. “Don’t put kisses from me.”
