An hour later Trent was releasing his wooing powers, and Finn was left feeling awkward while his best mate swapped saliva with a red-haired woman in front of him. He excused himself, and Trent responded with a grunt to show he’d heard.
Finn sighed, and pushed through the doors to the smoking area. A man offered him a cigarette, but he declined with a polite smile, and moved to the edge of the balcony. He looked down on the street below, and counted the couples kissing up against the side of the club. There was still a queue to get inside, and he frowned, then checked his watch. It was only eleven and he was already feeling tired enough to go home.
The chill to the air made him shiver, and he quickly rebuttoned his shirt. Even though his pectorals were covered, his n*****s tightened and showed through the material.
“Hey?”
He turned at the shout and clutched the railing in shock as Brody rushed towards him. Finn checked behind himself to be certain there wasn’t someone floating mid-air, and then asked just to be sure.
“You talking to me?”
Brody stopped a few feet away and nodded. “Yeah. Earlier. I—I kinda whispered hi at the floor not you, thought I’d say it again…”
The grin Brody gave him sparked tingles in Finn’s stomach, and he shuffled foot to foot. “You having a good night?”
“Yeah. Haven’t seen you here before.”
Finn wrinkled his nose. “Not really my scene, Trent invited me along.”
Brody took a step closer and bit his lip. He released the flesh with a small huff. “So, you like watching me surf?”
Finn swallowed to ease his suddenly tight throat. “Yeah I do.”
Brody grinned showing his teeth. Finn was close enough to see the color of his eyes, a greenish-blue, cyan, the color of the sea in every holiday brochure. Finn couldn’t stop looking at them, and his heart fluttered having finally identified the color of Brody’s eyes.
“Can you surf?”
Finn lowered his shoulders in disappointment. “No, I use a rescue board at the beach, but I can’t surf.”
“Shame, you’d look smoking on a board, but you can’t look any hotter than when you’re dressed in your skin-tight lifeguard T-shirt.”
Finn rubbed at his heated cheeks. “It’s my uniform.”
“Two sizes too small.”
Finn clacked his tongue, then shrugged. “They didn’t have any large.”
“I’m not complaining, it’s positively sinful.”
Finn tried to think of something witty to say, but failed miserably, and dropped his gaze.
“So have you seen my videos?” Brody asked.
Finn’s cheeks burned, and his heart fluttered fast. He didn’t just watch Brody on the beach, but at home on his phone. He had a YouTube channel with footage of him riding the waves. Brody was a celebrity to the locals, and most people watched his videos.
“Yeah, you’ve got quite the following.”
Brody bowed slightly and licked his lips. “About twenty thousand subscribers, I think.”
“Impressive.”
“Thanks, glad you think so.”
“You gunna tell them about the shark?”
The words came out before Finn could think on them, and internal terror seized him. Brody widened his eyes, then a coy smile spread his lips.
“There was a shark.”
Finn nodded, and reached for the tooth dangling from Brody’s neck. “Yeah, there’s definitely been sharks off that beach, just not fifty-foot ones with a vendetta.”
Brody smirked, and his eyes brightened. “Okay, so I might’ve slightly exaggerated.”
Finn ran his finger along the tooth, and Brody gasped.
“Careful, sharp.”
Finn shook his head. “No, it isn’t. it’s as harmless as a children’s float with a fin on the back.” Brody narrowed his eyes and Finn continued. “It was the most terrifying buoyancy aid I’ve seen, I’ll give you that.”
Brody bit his lip and checked over his shoulder. He didn’t seem annoyed but amused by Finn’s teasing.
“Relax, I’m not gunna say anything.”
Brody parted his lips, and Finn could see the tip of his tongue moving against his teeth. His pink, wet tongue that teased the ice cream the week before. A heat surged in Finn’s body, and he struggled to control it. He pinched the collar of his shirt and tried to flap the material, but it was too tight to move.
“And what will it cost me?” Brody purred.
Finn scrunched his brow. “What?”
Brody reached for Finn’s shirt, and his breath hitched at the contact. Brody picked at a button and licked his lips.
“Your silence over the shark, what’s it gunna cost me?”
Finn swallowed, and glanced down at Brody’s fingers toying with his buttons. “A drink, have a drink with me.”
Brody nodded, and brushed his hands down Finn’s chest. His nails caught on Finn’s erect n*****s, and he hissed. Brody’s cyan blue eyes, darkened, and the edge of his lips tugged into a smile.
“My friends say you check me out at the beach.”
Finn shook his head a bit too quickly. “No, nah. I’m a lifeguard, gotta make sure you’re okay.”
Brody took a step closer, pressed his lips together, then parted them with a pop. “That’s a shame. I kind’ve like the idea of you looking at me.”
Finn’s skin ignited with sensitivity. The tips of Brody’s shoes touched his, and they both glanced down.
“Why—why would you like me looking at you?” Finn asked his shoes.
Brody breathed out slowly through his nose. “You’re the hottest guy on that beach, of course I want your eyes on me.”
“Bet you say that to everyone.”
Brody tutted. “Don’t go getting jealous now. What about that drink?”
He pressed his chest to Finn’s and snaked his arms around his neck. One hand roamed through the strands of Finn’s hair, and tugged gently. Finn released an involuntary moan and shuffled his hips. There was no hiding his excitement with Finn pressed up against him. The relief at a matching heat in Brody’s trousers almost made him release a manic laugh. They stood for another ten second silence, with their heated crotches getting acquainted. There was only the smallest amount of friction, but it made Finn dizzy with desire.
“You gunna come back inside. Dance?”
“Can’t dance to save my life.”
Brody rolled his hips, and Finn bit his tongue not to moan. He stopped clutching the railing, and gripped onto Brody’s hips, and pulled him impossibly closer.
“But you will,” Brody murmured, then winked. “For me?”
Finn nodded as if hypnotized. “Yeah, I guess I can try.”
Brody retracted his hands, and Finn reluctantly let him go.
Brody took a step back, then reached out his arm, and slotted his fingers through Finn’s. He tugged, and Finn followed obediently, back through the doors of the smoking area onto the dance floor.
