Anxiety bubbled in Finn’s chest at the thought of seeing Brody. He expected a sneer in his direction, or Brody’s friends to laugh and point, but when the moment arrived, there was no reaction at all. Brody walked past undeterred and joined his group of friends. Finn frowned, and sagged forward. He expected something, even if it was a quick look from Brody, but he got nothing, not even a fleeting glance. Brody wanted to forget the moment between them, and all Finn had to remember it by was the shattered shell he kept in his truck.
