The divorce papers arrived by courier three days after I walked out of Carter's office. Three days of radio silence from him, no calls or texts or dramatic gestures, which told me everything I needed to know. He'd decided the pregnancy was either fake or not his problem, and he was cutting his losses. Fine. I'd expected nothing less.
Naomi spread the documents across her kitchen table while I sat there trying not to throw up from morning sickness that had decided to extend into all-day sickness. "This is different from the original settlement. He's offering fifteen million now instead of ten."
