Welcome to the Dreamscape, a land where the dreams of mortals here on Earth directly influence their lives. Our dreams are their reality, but as you probably know by now, not all dreams are good.
Our adventure begins in a dimension of the Dreamscape called Tuscania. Tuscania was generally a peaceful dimension, though they were known to have the strongest Military in the Dreamscape. A general in this military, Marcus Drakus was smart and living a happy life with his wife Fastre and his new-born son Lotorkun. Marcus had chosen that name because it meant Master in Ancient Tuscanian. Marcus hoped that one day his son would rise through the ranks of the Tuscanian Military, surpassing even him. But as this story will tell you, Lotorkuns future was very different to what his father hoped.
The day we join the story, Marcus was on his way home from from work. For years, there had been peace, so Marcus found his job becoming increasingly irrelevant. He knew he would have to start looking for a new job soon. As he walked, Marcus felt the ground shake slightly. He stopped and looked around for the tell-tale signs of an earthquake, but there were none. He carried on walking, dismissing the shake as a tremor. He was almost to his house when the ground shook again, so suddenly that Marcus nearly fell. He rushed back home, hoping this was just an earthquake in some far away city.
As he closed the door, Fastre came out of the living room, fear etched into her features. "What's wrong?" Marcus asked, rushing to comfort his wife. "The news... they said there had been a breakout from the prison. Dimensioniser is free." Fastre replied in a barely audible whisper. Marcus took his wife by the shoulders. "Pack some bags. We'll go somewhere safe." Fastre rushed off to the kitchen to grab some bags while Marcus went into the living to get his son ready. An almighty quake shook the room, Marcus just catching Lotorkun before he hit the floor. Marcus carried the baby into the hallway as Fastre came out of the kitchen. Together, the three of them left the house, just as another quake shook the dimension. A support beam fell from the house, piercing Fastres chest. "Run." She whispered as her life left her.
Marcus held Lotorkun close to his chest as he ran for the escape pods. He turned the corner and stopped in his tracks. The pods were destroyed, and in the wreckage stood the man Marcus was trying to escape from. Dimensioniser. The Destroyer of Dimensions. Marcus held Lotorkun close as he ran away, Dimensionisers footsteps thundering behind him. He had barely got to the next street when Dimensionisers blade plunged through his stomach, narrowly missing Lotorkun. "I have waited a long time for this day, Marcus," Dimensioniser said as he walked around to face Marcus, "The day I finally get my revenge! And revenge is sweet. Maybe, once I've destroyed this dimension, I can finally get some peace." Dimensioniser turned around, drawing a hammer from the air. A hammer Marcus had helped to create. The Dimension Smasher. Dimensioniser brought the Smasher thundering to the ground, which cracked as the dimension started to fall apart. Marcus just had time to see Dimensioniser vanish before Death took him.
Hours later, Enforcement ships were searching the wreckage of Tuscania for survivors. Nobody expected to find any. The Dimension Smasher was designed to completely destroy a dimension, and nobody could survive more than two minutes in the Abyss that took the space where the dimension used to be. So when one of the search teams reported finding an unconscious body. everybody was surprised. They were even more surprised to find that the body was that of a new-born baby. The baby was taken to a hospital in the nearest dimension, Fulcrem. After extensive health checks, doctors reported that the baby was in perfect health. The nurse looking after him, Maria Solem, said she had found a name in his clothes. The baby was the son of Tuscanias General Drakus, Lotorkun Drakus. Maria offered to take him in, and from the day Lotorkun was raised alongside adoptive siblings Natsuhi and Askara Solem. But Lotorkuns journey had just begun...
