Crap, He's Hot

Sheila spun the steering wheel and the truck drifted into an exit road that headed away from the town. She planted her foot into the accelerator and zoomed past traffic at dangerous speeds. "We're almost there!" she shouted to no one in particular. Suddenly, a person dropped from the sky above her and crashed onto a car in front of her. The car immediately lost control and jerked sideways, going off-road. The person was thrown onto the road and rolled several times as Sheila slammed her foot on the brakes. The truck screeched to a stop, a few centimeters from where the person lay. Sheila and Nova watched the person as he stood and casually dust himself up as if he didn't just drop from the sky. Nova and Sheila's heads followed Steve as he quickly ran towards the passenger door of the truck, opened the door, pushed Nova to make space for himself, climbed in and shut the door. A moment of silence passed. Steve gestured to the road ahead. "Drive?" "Oh yeah yeah right," Sheila said, turning her attention to the road and driving the truck forward. "I contacted Sky Labs," Steve said. "They're expecting us and will have backup." "Huh." said Sheila. "That thing threw you all the way here?" "Yup," Steve said. "All in a day's work." "Huh." said Sheila. "What is it?" "I don't know," said Steve. "Never seen one of those." "Huh." Sheila nodded. "You do this a lot?" "Yup," Steve nodded. "Huh." Sheila said. "So what are you, like some secret government special ops guy?" "Nope," Steve said. "Huh." "What's this package that we're delivering anyway?" Sheila asked. "That is way above my pay grade." Steve said. "Huh." "Will you quit with the huhs. It's getting annoying." Steve said. "I'm sorry, just a little bit overwhelmed by the recent turn of events." Sheila said. "Just drive." Steve said. "Should've just gotten fired," Sheila mumbled. The truck exited the main road and followed a dirt road into the forest. After a few minutes, they came up to talk structures that looked like watch towers. The vegetation and trees grew thicker. The truck slowed as it approached a group of armed men. They were armored to the face. With helmets and green glowing eyes and black full body armor that made them look like robots. Who's to say they weren't? Behind them was a gate connected to an electrified fence. It was so damn electrified, that Sheila saw the fence posts vibrate with current. The armed men let them through as the gate slid open. The truck drove onto the compound of the Sky Labs building. It was a one-storey structure that looked like something from the future. The truck drove into one of the garages. The doors slid shut. "Phew!" Sheila breathed out. "We made it." Steve got out and pointed at a door. "You're welcome. Reception is that way. Grab the package and give it to whoever is supposed to sign your pad thingy. My work is done here." Steve disappeared into one of the two elevator doors in the small garage. "I'd assumed the garage would be bigger," said Sheila as she got out of the truck and looked around. Nova followed her. She went to the back of the truck and found a keypad. She typed the passcode under the receipt and the doors unlocked. Inside was a metallic box strapped in. "So, mystery box, we finally meet." Sheila said as she unlocked the safety belts. She dragged it out of the truck. It wasn't heavy. She could carry it. She carried it through the door Steve had pointed it out. The next room was the reception area alright, but no one was there. It was large and open. With sleek stainless steel making up the walls. One of the walls, which appeared to be the front part of the building, was entirely made of glass. She saw the green lawn outside, and past it, the electric fence. So damn electric. A desk and a monitor stood in the middle of the large hall. In front of the desk was a small coffee table and a couch. "Hello?" Sheila's voice echoed in the large foyer. "Dang it why doesn't everything go as planned." Sheila sighed and placed the box down. She decided to wait. An hour later, she was beginning to get restless and tired. Nova had perched herself on the visitor couch to catch a nap. "Okay that's it Nova," Sheila said to Nova, whose ears sprung up upon the mention of her name. "The first person we find here, we leave this to them." Nova barked once in agreement, as Sheila thought, and followed her to the elevator, which was the only other way out apart from the door they had just walked in through. The doors slid open and she got in. She looked around for a keypad or anything. The walls were blank. The elevator doors began sliding shut. But, Sheila's eyes caught something past the foyer, through the glass window, outside, beyond the wall, in the sky. Hundreds of green energy blasts were flying towards a black figure. Some missed, some hit, but with no effect. The black figure in the sky was approaching Sheila's position. Fast. The glass wall shattered as the figure crashed through, coming towards Sheila's wide open eyes, and was about to fly right into the elevator just when the doors slid shut. Sheila almost lost her balance as the elevator briefly shook from the impact. Sheila breathed out as she felt the elevator descending. In that split second, she had seen the figure. It was a woman, with golden hair and a golden robe. Her skin was purple. "I think we got ourselves into trouble, Nova," Sheila said. Nova just barked and waved her tail. The elevator stopped and the doors slid open to a hallway kit by continuous strips of fluorescent that lined up the top corner edges of the corridor. The walls were glossy, as if made of stainless steel, but white. The corridor extended as far as Sheila's eyes could see. "Okay," Sheila said, staring at the infinite corridor in front of her. She hesitated for a few moments, gathering her options. An muffled explosion from above gave her enough motivation to jump into the corridor and run. "s**t shitty s**t s**t shit..." Sheila screamed as she tried to create distance with the elevator. Behind her, the elevator's roof crashed in on itself in a puff of dust. The dust quickly have way as the figure flew out, headed directly towards the fleeing Sheila and Nova. Sheila turned to check what the heck crashed into the elevator. Nova got in the way of Sheila's feet. Sheila tripped and was airborne for a few moments before crashing into the steel floor. Her arms squeaked as she slid. The box crashed hard flew open. Sheila watched as a purple canister popped out, bounced a few times on the floor before rolling to a stop. There was a door right above the canister. Sheila jumped to her feet, grabbed Nova and ran for the door. She quickly observed the lever that read 'Pull to Open'. She pulled and the door slid open. Sheila jumped through just as the figure grabbed her overall, but was flying too fast to stop in time. Sheila's overall tore halfway and the figure flew past with the top half of it. She got into the semi-dark room and the door closed. Sheila saw another lever and pulled. The door locked. She sighed and leaned on the door, closing her eyes to catch her breath. "Don't worry Nova. It wants that purple thingy. Not us," Sheila said. A clank echoed in the room as Nova dropped the purple canister next to Sheila's feet. Nova barked and waved her tail. Sheila alarmingly looked down. The canister was right there, and Nova was wagging her tail, goofily staring at Sheila. "Nova you i***t," Sheila said. Before she reacted, the door behind her instantly folded inwards. The force sent Sheila flying further into the dark part of the room. She crashed into something hard and hit the floor. So did the canister. The lights came on, and Sheila lay right underneath a glass case. Inside it was a man, sleeping. Sheila's mouth hung open for a moment as she observed the man. His skin was purple too. His body was athletic, complete with solid abs, a powerful chest and curvy leg and arm muscles. His perfect neck held a perfectly square jaw. That's why Sheila stared for so long. He was just so perfect. Nova began barking at whatever was on the side of the severed door. It was the purple woman. She kept on hitting he door. The hinges gradually gave way. However, Sheila's attention was taken to the canister. Her face was illuminated by a purple light, as what looked like an energy trail emerged from the canister. The trail slowly snaked towards the glass case. It went right through it and made contact with the man's skin. Nova jumped out of the way as the door exploded inwards and flew dangerously fast towards Sheila. At the same time, the glass case exploded as an arm emerged and the door crashed into the palm that was placed right in front of Sheila. The door instantly stopped, inches from Sheila's face. Her hair blew backwards as the wind from the door blew past her. The woman walked into the room. She saw the canister and immediately dashed towards it. In a flash, the man in the glass case burst out and landed in between the canister and the woman. He then grabbed the woman by her neck and tossed her into one of the walls. The woman crashed and disappeared into the wall. The man grabbed the canister and turned to Sheila. He had purple eyes. Sheila's heart missed a beat as they made contact with hers. She involuntarily gasped. "Quickly, take your beast and get away from here," he said. His voice was deep. Commanding. Confident. Assuring. Sheila thought maybe the job wasn't a bad thing after all.
