Lena watched Batumi's dazzling view from the window of the ascending plane. As the city, spread along the coast of the Black Sea and decorated with lights, grew smaller, she felt an indescribable excitement inside her. Hours passed, and the plane's movements became more turbulent. When Lena turned her eyes back to the window, this time she saw Mardin, a place she had never set foot in before. This city was not just a journey for her; it was also a discovery of her own roots. This place, where the foundations of the land she was born in were laid, gave her a sense of belonging, yet this adventure into the unknown also created a slight fear in her heart.
As the plane descended slowly into Mardin, Lena continued to watch outside. The endless stone houses seemed to whisper the silence of ancient times. The sun scorched lands dazzled with the dance of brown and gold tones. This history filled city created a shiver inside Lena while also giving her the excitement of the unknown.
Ivy, sitting next to her, had her head resting against her seat, lazily watching the view with sleepy eyes while also observing Lena. She gently removed her eye mask, took a deep breath, and looked more carefully out the window. "Wow, look at the view. Magnificent. It looks like the houses in Jordan and Egypt, does not it?" she whispered.
Lena turned her eyes back to the window, her lips curving almost imperceptibly. Even though she would not admit it, the ancient structures, the houses adorned with stone carvings, and the narrow streets had enchanted her. "Yes… it really does look magnificent," she murmured.
They both startled when they heard a voice behind them. Hakan, with a hint of cheerfulness in his eyes, leaned in and spoke. "I will take the suitcases, sister in law. You go with Mr. Blaze to the car," he said, winking.
Lena hesitated for a moment, nodding in agreement, but immediately her eyes locked onto Blaze. He had his head resting against the seat, his eyes resting. His broad shoulders and the prominent veins on his neck were visible with every breath. Lena's mind suddenly drifted to that night. After dozing off from exhaustion, she had woken up a while later, gently opening her eyes and looking at the naked man lying next to her. She had studied his calm breathing, the sharp but attractive lines on his face. Her heart was racing now too. What was this man doing to her?
Lena startled at Ivy's sudden nudge, feeling as if she had been punched in the chest. Was it always going to be like this? Would every memory, every feeling about Blaze lead back to that night? And now they were going to live in the same house. What was she going to do in the midst of this chaos?
Blaze opened his eyes, looked directly into Lena's eyes, and with that infamous sly smile on his lips, he winked slightly. Lena quickly averted her gaze and straightened her jacket.
When they got off the plane, Lena and Ivy were left speechless by the sight awaiting them.
At the airport exit, eight luxury cars were lined up. The men in black suits getting out of the cars stood at attention, resembling an army. Their backs were straight, their eyes sharp and watchful. Each of them scanned the surroundings seriously, forming a protective perimeter. It felt like being inside a movie scene.
Lena's eyes widened, her heartbeat echoing in her ears. Involuntarily, she moved closer to Blaze and clutched his arm. "Are you insane? Do you always travel with an army like this? Who are they protecting you from?" she whispered, her voice mixed with surprise and a hint of fear.
Blaze first looked at Lena's hands tightly gripping his arm, then at her anxious face. The sly smile at the corner of his lips became more pronounced.
"Actually, they are not here for me. They are here to protect you, my lady," he said in a low but mocking voice. "After all, you are now one of the richest people in Mardin."
At that moment, all the men, as if to prove this point, shouted in unison: "Welcome to Mardin, my lady!"
Ivy looked around with wide eyes, her expression a mixture of shock and fascination.
She approached and nudged Lena's arm slightly. "Oh my God, you have officially become famous!" she giggled.
Lena put her hand to her head, trying to hide in embarrassment. "Ugh… I wish the ground would open up and swallow me. What kind of humiliation is this, God…" she murmured, her cheeks burning red.
Blaze, with his usual confident attitude, gently took Lena's hand. The door of the luxury car waiting in front of them was silently opened by a man in a black suit. As she got inside, Lena's heart pounded like a drum in her chest.
Hakan, following behind, said with a practical smile, "Ms. Ivy, you come with me so we do not crowd."
Lena's heart sank. Her eyes pleaded with Ivy as if to say, 'Do not leave us alone!' but Ivy, with a mischievous smile on her face, did not miss the opportunity to leave them alone.
"Of course," she said, quickly walking to the other car.
Overcome with sudden panic, Lena leaned forward from her seat, almost onto Blaze. "No, Ivy! Come here right now!" she hissed, her voice both furious and desperate.
Blaze tilted his head, glanced at the delicate hands resting on his legs, and smiled with pleasure. The corner of his lips curled slightly, his eyes gleaming with mockery.
"My dear wife," he said, his voice silk soft but carrying a mocking tone. "This kind of car fantasy is not considered normal around here. Should you save your excitement for our room, hmm?"
Lena's eyes widened, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. She quickly pulled her hands away from Blaze's clothes and shrank back into her seat, nearly pressing herself against the window.
"What are you talking about!" she snapped, her voice becoming shrill. "Why would I get on top of you? I was just calling out to Ivy!"
She cleared her throat, averted her eyes, and clasped her hands tightly on her knees. Her heart was still racing.
Blaze parted his lips slightly and leaned to the side. He noticed the hairs on the back of Lena's neck standing up. When his breath touched Lena's skin, she involuntarily trembled slightly.
"You are the boss. I should be the one serving you. You are right," he whispered.
Lena's cheeks burned. Her heartbeat echoed in her ears. Blaze's words wrapped around her body like fire. She was angry at herself. Why did she react so strongly to this man?
Remembering the driver's presence, her embarrassment multiplied. With her own trembling voice, she leaned slightly toward Blaze and whispered almost pleadingly.
"Please do not do this… They will misunderstand."
Blaze moved closer to Lena like a predator approaching its prey, a mischievous glint shining in his eyes. Despite Lena's usual fierce tiger like demeanor, her transformation into a timid kitten when it came to s****l matters fascinated Blaze wildly.
There was a moment of silence. Then Blaze, narrowing his eyes, whispered with lustful mockery.
"Alright, my lady… I will do it when we are alone."
Lena suddenly jolted and slapped Blaze's chest hard. Her embarrassment multiplied as she covered her face with both hands.
Inside the car, only Lena's uneven breathing and Blaze's soft laughter could be heard.
Minutes later, they had entered a deserted road far from the city. Lena could no longer suppress her curiosity and asked.
"Where are we going first?"
Blaze turned his eyes to Lena and answered calmly.
"To your home. I am taking you to the mansion where you were born. The house where we will live from now on."
Lena's eyebrows rose slightly. It was beginning. A new life and a new home. As she tried to digest what Blaze had said, she started looking out the window. But suddenly her eyes widened, her breath caught, and she screamed in fear.
"Watch out!"
But it was too late. A loud bang rose from the car's tires, the steering wheel lost control, and the car began to swerve violently. The driver tried to straighten the wheel in panic, but Lena clung to her seat as the car shook.
The driver, his face pale, spoke with a trembling voice.
"Sir… How is this possible? How did they find us?"
Blaze's jaw clenched. His eyebrows were furrowed, his eyes narrowed with anger. The convoy had tried to lose their tracks by sending vehicles down different roads at each intersection. But no matter what they did, the enemy had somehow figured out that they were in this car. And now… Facing the armed men getting out of the five cars in front of them, they were completely alone.
Blaze clenched his teeth and turned to Lena. His voice was harsh and commanding.
"Stay calm. Do not get out of the car."
Lena nodded slightly, her eyes filled with fear.
Blaze took a deep breath, opened the door firmly, and got out of the car. He straightened his chest coolly, dusted off his pants slightly, and cast a mocking glance around him. In front of him stood a group of armed men. And right in the middle of them, that man. His enemy.
Blaze placed a mocking smile at the corner of his lips and spoke.
"What is this, Boran? Have you started robbing people on the road?"
