Korra sat on her bed with her eyes closed. She was making finishing touches to the cultivation technique she was to give to Asta. After a few minutes her eyes snapped open. She let out a long breath.
"Finally! I can't believe it took me three days to modify this cultivation technique"
She got up from the bed and stretched her body.
"I better write this down for Asta." She said as she walked towards the table in her room. She picked up a pen-like instrument and begun to write on a piece of paper.
After she finished, she picked the piece of paper and walked towards Asta's room. Asta's room was at the end of the corridor.
Without knocking, Korra twisted the door knob and walked inside. Asta's room was a simple room with just a bed, mirror and a table and chair.
Asta was sitting infront of the table. She seemed to be studying something.
"What are you reading?" Korra asked as she walked into the room.
"Lady Korra!" Asta exclaimed in delight as she begun to run towards her.
Korra lifted a hand to stop Asta. Her eye were fierce as she stared at Asta.
"I asked you a question" she said coolly. Asta flinched as she heard that. She bowed her head in slight fear.
"I am- I'm studying the alphabets and words Madame Heather gave to me"
"I see" Korra responded and nodded her head. "Stop that and follow me"
"What? But I am not d-"
"Are you questioning me?" She snapped.
"N-no" This time, Asta was shivering in fear.
Korra noticed this.
'Tch. She's afraid. I should becareful from now on. Loyalty born from fear is shakeable.... But loyalty born from manipulation, now that's a different matter' an evil smirk formed on her lips.
She put on a worried expression and walked towards Asta. She placed a hand on her head and begun to caress it.
"I'm sorry. I did not mean to scare you. But don't you remember what happened in the forest? Do you not want to get stronger? Don't you want to protect me?"
Asta shook her head and looked up at Korra. She had pure innocent eyes that shined brightly.
"I do. I want to be as strong as you. I want to protect you!" She said with firm determination.
Korra's eyes glittered.
"Then just follow me and do everything I say, okay?"
"Okay!" Asta replied with enthusiasm.
Normally Asta would not be fooled by petty tricks such as this, but she trusted and believed in Korra far too much.
"Let's go"
"Sure"
Korra and Asta walked out of the house. They did not need permission from Heather to go out since they were only going to the house's backyard. Zeid rarely stayed in the house. He was always out hunting in the forest so he could sell the corpse for money.
The backyard of the house was nothing much. There was a mini farm at the far end. A small barn-like structure was built there. Korra led Asta into the barn.
Except for a few tools and hay, the barn was virtually empty.
"Sit here."
"Okay"
"Now cross your legs like this" Korra continued and gave Asta a demonstration on how to sit in the lotus position.
"Like this?"
"No no. Move your left leg a little bit higher.... No, it is too high... No... Yes! Like that"
Korra searched into her leather shorts and pulled out a sheet of paper. She handed it over to Asta.
"Memorize this."
"Okay" Asta said as she looked at the paper. She begun to read it.
'If she has exceptional talent, it would take about five minutes to memorize. After all, these are profound words that lead to enlightenment. I have high expectations'
........
"I'm done" Asta said proudly.
Korra's eyes twitched as she saw Asta's proud look. She was shaking in rage.
'This damned brat! I should just kill her now. Three hours? Three hours? Just to memorize a single cultivation technique? What type of low grade talent is this'
Her rage was about to explode. Asta corked her head as she saw Korra's bad mood.
"Hmm? Lady Korra? Is something wrong?"
The question angered her even more. Killing intent begun to seep out of her body. Asta shivered as she felt the temperature of the room had suddenly dropped.
Just as Korra was about to kill her...
Bomp!
Her heart trembled.
'Ugh!'
She grabbed her chest.
'Damn it. I forgot about the other person inside me. Okay, calm down. Think Korra.' Korra closed her eyes in contemplation.
'Even if her talent is bad, it shouldn't pose too much of a problem. I can just use my experience to increase the speed of her cultivation. My future plans can only be kick started with a loyal follower behind me'
After deciding, she turned around and looked at Asta.
"Okay. Now that you have memorized everything you need to know, let us begin"
Asta nodded in excitement.
"Take of your top"
"What?" Asta asked in confusion.
"Take it off. It is for the training" Korra repeated.
"But... But" Asta mumbled as a blush crept up her cheek.
"Hurry up!"
"Ok- okay!"
Asta took of her cloth. Her chest was flat as to be expected.
"Close your eyes."
Asta did.
Korra got up, walked and stood at the back of Asta with a wooden stick in hand.
"Concentrate on the mana around you. Visualize small white specs in the atmosphere and connect to them" Korra paused for a while.
"Do you see them?"
Asta nodded.
"Alright. Now, begin to recite the words I gave to you. Don't force it. Just gently speak it out"
Asta begun to mumble. Immediately, she became like a suction force. Great amounts of Mana begun to flow into her.
'As expected. Her talent is so low. She can't even control this technique well. If I wasn't here she would have died'
Korra poured mana into the thin wooden stick she was holding. She then pointed it at Asta's back and begun to draw a weird pattern. Surprisingly, the mana that was flowing chaotically begun to flow peacefully in the pattern Korra was drawing on Asta's back.
"Phew. This is going to take a while"
