HUNTERS POV

I followed the scent outside of the building. She must be on the track for PE, or at least on her way there as that was where the scent was heading. As I approached the track there weren't many people on it. There were a few girls running around the track, probably warming up for class. There was a group of guys talking and laughing on the bleachers. And of course the cheerleaders were on the field practicing. Dear moon goddess if this is a second mate please don't let her be a cheerleader, please let her be nice and compassionate!

Though I will admit, as I stand here watching the cheerleaders, I wouldn't mind one of them being my mate at all. They are all stunningly beautiful. Felix growls in my mind as he silently nudges me to continue on to the scent of our new mate. I step forward looking around and thats when I see her. Brilliant strawberry blond hair, tied back into some sort of mess on her head, but it suited her well. Her skin was pale like she hadn't seen the sun in a while. I needed to get closer to her, as I couldn't see anything else. She looked like she was frustrated at the book she was holding.

I began to walk closer and I could hear her muttering curse words under her breath. I had to play this cool, i failed to impress my first mate, i couldn't let this one down too. I needed her to at least be willing to get to know me and give me a chance to be a good mate. I finally stood beside her, she seemed not to notice me, still muttering angrily at the book and paper in her hand.

“Um hi, you seem upset. Is there anything I can do to maybe help?” I asked her in a soft and hopefully friendly voice. To which she jumped at. Mental note, stop being so stupid, I should have made a little more noise on my way here, man that sounds creepy.

“Hi, uh yeah I am just annoyed at my schedule and this map of the school. Today is my first day and I'm so lost.” her voice is like an angel, whispering softly. She looks up at me and smiles, then looks back down.

Her eyes were a deep golden brown, with hints of crimson red in them. Ive never seen this eye color before but it was so beautiful. “Your eyes are gorgeous…I..er.. Uhhh….i can help you find your way if you'd like?” i offer as I sit beside her. She hands me her schedule. It is almost identical to mine. Though I am pretty sure we missed our second period class by now. “You know i have most of these classes with you, the only one i dont have with you is math. So I can walk you to class the next few days if youd like until your comfortable”

Her face lit up like the sun, she was smiling from ear to ear. “That would be awesome! I am Anna.”

“My name is hunter.”

We sit in silence for a few moments before we look away from each other. There is something strange about her, but at the same time it feels good to know that i havent scared her off yet. I pull out my cell phone and check the time. It 11:16am, time for us to head to our third class of the day.

School is finally over. Anna and i have talked non stop all day. She has told me about herself and her family. I didn't tell her too much about me or my family as i didn't want to ruin my chances. I am not sure if she can feel the mate bond or not, she should as she told me she is also eighteen. But no matter what I wasn't going to rush into anything.

“It was nice being able to talk to someone in school today, thank you” I told her as we stopped at the end of the sidewalk waiting to cross to go our separate ways home.

“I will agree today was a good day! Thank you for being so kind”

“Any time.” I said as we both crossed the street in the directions of our homes. Felix was happy, knowing that tomorrow we would be able to see our mate again. The thought of how it's possible still runs through my mind. And even more so how did I get two mates in one day!

ANNA`S POV

It's been a very long first day and sadly it was still only the first period. Apparently being out of school for a year, you tend to miss a lot and fall behind. They just started their first semester of school so thankfully it would not be too hard to get caught up in learning. Though in all honesty i really didn't even know how long I`d even be at this school. Though I try very hard to stay in school as long as possible Warren makes sure I never stay long enough to learn too much. I was currently posing as a senior at this school, as that was the grade Hunter is in. Today should be his 18th birthday which means tonight he would be shifting for the first time. I would be lying if i said i didn't want to see his wolf. I still didn't understand why he was so important to Warren but he was. This was a test for me, my own personal test. I had to find a way to fulfill Luna Amber's wishes and keep her son safe, but I also needed to bring him to Warren to ensure my family stays safe.

I can not get too wrapped up in studying. I needed to find Hunter and start getting close to him. Hopefully he was open to making new friends. The bell for the first period to end rang, I waited for everyone else to leave the classroom before I got up and walked outside. My next class was PE. I was told by the lady in the office that it was outside and I would need to change into different clothes, more suitable for running and being physical. I did not bring any clothes like that so I figured I'd just sit on the sideline and watch this class.

I sat in the bleachers and began looking through the books for my other classes, i didn't understand half of it. I took out my schedule and my school map, again it didn't make sense this map layout was so confusing. Suddenly a smell hit me, it smelled like a mix of fresh cut grass and the first rainfall of the season, if that even makes sense. My two most favorite smells.. But wait, this only meant one thing!

“MATE…MATE…..MATE!!!” my wolf Lucy yelped in my mind as she jumped up and down in circles. Did I dare look to see who it was? Or do I just keep my head down and pretend not to notice. I heard footsteps approaching as the scent got stronger.

“Um hi, you seem upset. Is there anything I can do to maybe help?” he asked, he had a soft and timid voice. It sent goosebumps up my arms.

I explained my frustration and he offered to help after a few moments he introduced himself as Hunter. I couldn't believe this was the guy I was looking for. This guy sitting next to me being so nice was the guy who Warren had tried years to locate, and failed to capture after weeks of attacks. I chuckled inwardly to myself. This guy was going to be so easy to take back to warren.

HUnter and I spent the day together as we had mostly the same classes. I could tell he could feel the mate bond. OH MY GOSH the mate bond! Holy s**t he is my mate. How am i supposed to hand him over to warren for him to do goddess only know what to him when he is my mate. I need to call Amber and tell her I found her son. Crap, I need to tell her he is my mate as well! Oh this was not going to be a fun phone call at all.

After school Hunter and I walked halfway home together until the road split and we had to go separate ways. We agreed to meet here again in the morning to walk to school together. My wolf was sad to see Hunter walk away from us. She wanted Hunter to come with us. She was eager to mate with him because she wanted him so badly. I don't blame her. I wanted him to but we had to take our time, as I knew the second I had to betray him I knew he would hate me, and reject us instantly. At this thought my wolf whimpered and hid in the back of my mind.

I arrived at my apartment and opened my door. I set my bag of books down on the counter and went straight for the fridge, I got an apple and peanut butter. I walked into the living room area and noticed a man sitting on my couch, scrolling through his phone. James, he was Warren's right hand man. I couldn't stand him, but Hunter had paired us together as chosen mates as we were the only two werewolves in his group. However i couldn't stand james at all, he was a complete a**

“James, what are you doing here?” i asked him sourly

“Why my dear I came to check in on you, we haven't heard from you since Warren sent you here last week. I was beginning to worry” he said with a saddened tone, as he stood and came closer to me. Clearly fake sadness as I knew he didn't care one ounce for me. As he got closer I took steps back to keep the space between us. “Oh come on now precious don't pull away from me, I thought we agreed to at least try to get along with one another.” he grinned a sly looking grin, something was up.

“ I didn't check in because nothing happened, nothing worth reporting anyways. And as for trying i made no such deal James I can't stand you and i refuse to let Warren choose my mate I know mines out there waiting for me” I said as i retreated back into the kitchen with my plate. I sat at the table and was soon joined by james. I rolled my eyes. This was going to be a very long night if he didnt leave soon.

“Well I hope you can be a little more open, dear, as Warren just issued for us to be married when you return with Hunter.’ he said, taking my hand and kissing the back of it. “I guess that makes us engaged, my beautiful fiance!” my eyes darted to his, searching for any sign of him lying. My luck, there was none!
