"What a lovely home you have," Luna Jasmine said with a smile.

"Thank you," Julie replied. "I am sorry it isn't perfectly cleaned but our child has been neglecting his chores".

"Oh nonsense dear, it looks great! But I do have to ask, if you are the female betta and jack the beta, why don't you just move into the pack house, it's more than big enough?" Luna asks, looking between Jack, Julie and me.

It's normal for high ranking members to live in the pack house due to having so much pack business to work on. Ever since I've known, well been a servant to, the Carters have not lived in the pack house. I never knew why but I honestly could care less where we lived. Alpha clears his throat as if waiting for someone to answer the question. Jack and Julie look worried as they glance at each other.

"Alpha, Luna, we would love to live in the pack house however our adoptive son, Hunter is just such a handful most of the time that we prefer to live outside the packhouse as to avoid him causing any trouble in your home." Jack finally replies with a sly smile on his face.

"I am not the problem" I mutter under my breath.

"Excuse me boy?" Jack said as he clenched his fists.

"Nothing sir, I'm sorry, shall I go get the table set?" I answered him as to not cause a scene in front of the alpha.

"That would be great. Thank you Hunter" Julie is the one who answers my question, she does so, in the most angelic and soft voice I've ever heard come from her lips. What a show she was putting on for Luna and Alpha. I bow my head and leave to the kitchen.

Dinner goes by without any altercations. I stay as silent as possible while everyone else talks about pointless stuff, and some pack stuff. Apparently, if I'm hearing right there have been rogue attacks close to our borders. Alpha and Jack are discussing that while Julie and Luna are discussing a spa trip for later this week. I'm very thankful that there's no attention to me. I can honestly say at this moment I was in pure bliss.

"Alpha, I did want to discuss something very important with you in regards to a private matter if that would be alright sir."

"Yes that would…." The alpha started to say when a siren blared and echoed through the air.

Everyone jumped up from their chairs and looked towards the front door as Janelle ran through. She was bruised and bloody. She honestly looked worse than I ever had. I almost felt bad for her… almost.

"The rogues!" She coughs up blood as she tries to speak."the rogues made it into the territory." She is trying not to choke now. Alright now I feel bad for her. "They are killing everyone, daddy, looking for him!" She points to me before she collapses to the floor.

"Janelle!!" Julie yells as she rushes to her daughters side, holding her tight against her.

Alpha Cane, Luna Jasmine and Jack all exchange a glance and then look at me. What could the rogues possibly want with a low life weak wolf like me? Do they not know that I'm about as worthless as they come? Though today for some reason I was stronger than I've ever been. I finally stood up for myself, twice.

There was panic heard through the town as people ran to the safe houses. Suddenly I felt a strong hand wrap around my wrist and I was being dragged through the house to the back door. When I looked it was Jack who had me, of all the people to turn me over it would be him.

"Boy I know i haven't treated you well but go now with Luna to the safe house. I know you can't fight but protect her with everything you've got" he said as he handed me over to he luna.

After handing me over to Luna, Jack bolted towards the city. He shifted as he ran. Right in front of him was the Alpha. How badly I wished I could shift and fight instead of being shielded in the safe houses like a child. I followed Luna to a well. What the heck was this. I arched my eye brow as I watched her wave her hand over it and a staircase leading into the ground appeared. What in the world!

"This is a special safe house for high ranking members, and a few very special pack members. No one in the pack knows about it or can access it unless they have the secret hidden tattoo." Luna explains seeing my confused face. I nod. I have so many questions but now clearly isn't the time.

JACKS POV

The sirens are blaring and the rogues just keep coming. Our men are fighting their hardest. We've lost so many good fighters already we can't hold them back much longer, but we also can't let them have Hunter.

I know I've abused him and degraded him, made him feel weak but I was trying to see if what the witch told me about him was true. According to her when he shifts tomorrow night, his wolf will.be the strongest wolf to be born. Apparently he was kissed by the moon goddess herself. He is a special wolf, but if he has the power and rank he is said to have then we have to find a way to keep him from shifting or even getting his wolf.

I'm deep in thought and I don't realize a rogue lunged at me, until he knocked me to the ground. I shake it off and jump back to my feet. I growl and show my teeth, boy does he reeks of death, I lunge and get his neck, shaking my head and ripping out his throat. These rogues are strong but our pack is stronger.

"Keep it up pack your doing great. They are starting to become lesser. We will win this" I hear Alpha Cane shout enthusiastically through a mind link.

He is right, we can and will over power these filthy rogues. And when we do I will have to talk to the alpha about what to do about Hunter.
