I’m curled on the window seat in the Alpha library, knees to my chest, staring at the ring on my finger like it might vanish if I blink, when someone knocks softly.
“Yes, come in,” I say.
Sarah pokes her head in, dark curls bouncing, eyes bright. “Got a minute for your favorite human-turned-wolf sidekick?”
I got up immediately. “Omg!!! Sarah! It’s been like forever,” I gasped, rushing towards the door to give her a hug. “How have you been?”
